Aiding someone who experienced a crisis while showing empathy and providing support is no easy task, yet that’s exactly what Maggie does on a daily basis. Through her work as a Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), in coordination with the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence and the CWRU Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, Maggie applies her background as an advocate in the non-profit sector. She uses her skills to process sensitive data, inform the public about sexual assault and domestic violence, and secure the funding and resources to ensure that the most vulnerable and marginalized populations see justice. During college, Maggie was a hotline advocate and volunteer for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and recipient of the 2013 Academic Achievement Award at Cleveland State University. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in public health in order to enhance her ability to serve populations that might otherwise go unnoticed.
