Our Vision

Centuries ago, Ignatius of Loyola sent his friend Francis Xavier on his Asian voyage to inspire and grow the Jesuit mission. Ignatius said to Xavier, ‘Go, set the world alight.’

It encapsulated the extraordinary heart and soul of an Ignatian –that education is not for the self, but for others. Education is our vessel to go out and make the world brighter.

We still live and breathe this vision at Saint Ignatius’ College today.

School Motto Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (AMDG)

‘For the Greater Glory of God’

To live Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam is a way of life that influences our thoughts and deeds. It recognises the divine presence in all things and places service and servant leadership at our core.

It embodies a resolute commitment to a faith that does justice, offering one’s heart, hands and whole self.

It’s a call to action – to see the good and possible in every situation. It brings us together at one table, with strength and unity in our diversity.

Present

Saint Ignatius’ College is stronger than ever, well-positioned for an exciting and promising future.

As we embark on this new phase of strategic planning, we acknowledge the growing uncertainties in the world around us. Through robust governance and leadership, our college has established a solid foundation for sustained growth to navigate our future.

The advent of disruptive technologies, global challenges, and unforeseeable events underscores the necessity for our college to not only preserve this foundation but also to embrace agility to respond to the coming changes.

Looking Ahead

Saint Ignatius’ College is on an ambitious journey with its new Strategic Plan for 2024 – 2028, which aims to integrate Jesuit mission and Ignatian spirituality into modern contexts while continuing to innovate to optimise the development of young people.

The Strategic Plan is the result of deep consultations with students, staff, parents, governance and members of our community, reviewing key pillars of learning, student wellbeing, co-curricular activities, and mission. This process has equipped the College to enhance and invigorate the future with fresh, forward-thinking ideas that will greatly benefit students in their lives beyond the College.
