By: Bantac, Michelle San Francisco campus Seeking to revolutionize classroom dynamics through modern technology, the top administrative tier of Saint Columban College (SCC) concluded a high-level, fiveday international academic benchmarking mission in Seoul, South Korea on May 21, 2026. The intensive delegation, led by School President Rev. Fr. Nestor B. Remasog, STL, PhD and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Susan M. at Chadwick International School, observing modern facility designs and how AI tools are embedded into daily lessons. According to an official administrative brief released early this week, the insights gathered will directly inform SCC’s upcoming institutional updates. The goal is to gradually pilot AI-assisted instruction tools in selected K12 and college courses by the upcoming

First Semester of the 2026–2027 academic year. “We cannot shield our students from the digital future; instead, we must teach them to navigate it ethically and skillfully,” Dr. Ramirez noted during an initial debriefing session with department heads. Local student reactions remain varied. While tech-oriented organizations have voiced enthusiasm, some students and faculty raised concerns about preserving critical thinking and original work. Further consultations regarding infrastructure upgrades and policy guidelines are scheduled before classes open on June 29, 2026.

By: Bantac, Michelle The Saint Columban College community erupted in celebration as twelve graduates from the College of Business Education (CBE) officially passed the May 2026 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), earning the institution an overall passing rate of 27.91%.

this year, an SCC graduate also ranked Top 4 nationwide in the Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Exam, proving the college’s strong performance across business-related fields. Department heads attributed the success to rigorous review programs, mock board exams, and one-on-one coaching. A formal testimonial dinner and victory parade are being organized to honor the new CPAs before the opening of classes.

PROPUSE TUITION INCREASE SPARK DEBATE

PAGADIAN CITY — A tense atmosphere filled the Audio Visuals Room (AVR) during consultations on a proposed fee adjustment. Management intends to raise the institutional rate to Php 450.00 per unit starting SY 2026–2027. Grand Student Council (GRANSCIL) President Trisha Mae Agonoy urged officials to present a transparent breakdown of where funds will go, noting families are still adjusting to economic pressures. Enrollment for Grade 7 ESC slots and Law School entrance exams already concluded in May–June. Regular registration continues until June 26.
