ST AUGUSTINE’S COLLEGE CAIRNS
ST AUGUSTINE’S COLLEGE CAIRNS
Since its establishment in 1930, St Augustine’s has cultivated a strong presence in the sports landscape of Cairns and the wider community. Sport is synonymous with the Saints experience, encouraging boys to discover personal strength borne of competition and camaraderie. The College is committed to the ongoing development of all sports and is particularly keen to see all participants, across all ability levels, developing and improving their sporting skills, sport-specific fitness and team spirit.
Our teams compete each week in inter-school competitions, and we are committed to exploring and providing regional, state and national opportunities for our students. The support of the Cairns community enables Saints to provide our students with affordable and accessible sporting opportunities.
Packages range from Gold to Bronze and can be customised according to your requirements and budget and are outlined below. Your business logo will
appear on our training uniforms, polos and jerseys for selected sports. Such items would be worn by coaching staff, players and parents, giving exposure throughout Queensland. We have a fantastic culture at the College and set high standards for our boys that we expect them to uphold on and off the field.
We are excited to present the following sponsorship packages:
Sponsorship helps us provide our students with affordable access to sports competitions. A key goal of the sports program is to give our students access to high-level competition. Sport in regional areas such as Cairns is expensive due to travel, accommodation and competition registration fees.
Sponsorship of your selected team or package will go towards the cost of uniforms and training kit. Students that are part of these sport teams will keep their training gear. This enhances their belonging to the Saints sports program and gives your business positive and ongoing exposure in the community.
Sponsorship assists us to maintain and upgrade sports facilities and equipment to provide our students with access to high quality equipment for training and competitions.
Sponsorship also contributes to the academic success and overall wellbeing of our students. This fosters a balanced environment where students can excel in the classroom as well as on the sporting field.
Establishing partnerships with local businesses contributes to maintaining the long-term sustainability of Saints sports program. This will provide our students with affordable access and opportunities in sport in 2025 and beyond.
Our First XIII Rugby League team has a long and auspicious history in Far North Queensland. The College excelled under former Australian Rugby League representative, Lionel Williamson, who was instrumental in founding the Rugby League program at Saints and in the establishment of the Confraternity Shield Carnival.
Saints compete annually in this 5-day Carnival involving 52 independent schools from all over Queensland. In 2023, St Augustine’s partnered with the North Queensland Cowboys to develop a high performance program and pathways for boys in FNQ.
Saints entered the Aaron Payne Cup (opens) and Cowboys Challenge (U15s) elite, nationally recognised rugby league competitions. Saints have made the semifinals in the Aaron Payne Cup in their first two years of competing in the competition. Your sponsorship
will assist our boys and their families by significantly reducing the cost of travel, food and accommodation associated with these competitions.
Your business will get exposure through live streams and media coverage of the Aaron Payne Cup, Confraternity and Cowboy’s Challenge statewide competitions.

The St Augustine’s junior and senior teams have excelled at local, regional and state levels, dominating the local JSS and CISSA competitions. Saints compete in the AFLQ Cup competition that involves 200 secondary school teams from all over Queensland. Your sponsorship will assist our boys and their families by significantly reducing the costs of travel, food and accommodation. The opportunity to compete at the state finals of the AFLQ Cup competition in Maroochydore is the highlight of the AFL school calendar and offers our students the opportunity to compete in high-level competition. Saints regularly qualify for these semi-finals, placing in the top 4 in Queensland. St Augustine’s Senior AFL team qualified

The St Augustine’s College Bill Turner Cup team has a successful association with the competition for over 25 years, proudly representing the College and the community. In 2024, St Augustine’s began the Saints Football Program (SFP) which supports the Bill Turner Cup Team and the development of young players at the school. The Bill Turner Cup is one of the world’s largest team sport competitions. Over 400 schools compete each year, which means around 6,000 players
from NSW, Queensland, ACT and Victoria. The College has reached the state finals on four occasions and progressed to the national stage once. In 2023, St Augustine’s finished second in the state losing the state final 1-0 to Ipswich Grammar in extra time. Saints hope to continue to grow the football program through the SFP and challenge for the Bill Turner State Cup while providing access to affordable, high-quality coaching.

Saints cycling and mountain biking program is the largest in North Queensland. In 2024, 38 students travelled to Townsville to compete in the Townsville Interschool race and achieved a commanding victory. Saints also won the local Interschool Mountain Biking Challenge.
In 2024, our sponsors supported the team, and with their generous giving, we could:
• Provide 33 jerseys at discounted rates.
• Feed and hydrate racers at events.
• Transport students to the Townsville Interschool Race.
• Assist teams in the Atherton Elevate 8 Hr MTB race.
In 2025, we plan to continue our current race schedule, increase our ability to transport bikes by building a bigger trailer, and compete in races further afield. Under direction of our College Counsellor Ms Keller we
would also like to trial taking kids out to the trails for therapeutic intervention. All sponsors will be linked in social media posts from St Augustine’s in 2025, and there are two types of sponsorships on offer. Reference to logos below: trailer logo will be approximately 500 x 400mm on both sides of the trailer, jersey logos are best fit for design purposes. Sponsoring this package will promote you on the training uniforms of all sports within the Saints sports package for 2025.
