TRUE EXPERIENCE = PELLE P
“Nothing is impossible, it’s just a matter of finding a solution”, a motto worth living by. Sailing a powerboat with bed sheets and a shelf from the interior when the engine breaks down in a blazing storm, piloting an airplane without any knowledge when the captain passes out and the other passengers think their time has come , on and on it goes when it comes to Pelle.
Starting with an internship at Volvo, he became a design icon for both the automobile and boat industries. Pelle Petterson’s passion for the sea was awakened in Kullavik, Sweden, which propelled him into a marine career. This is the story of a great legend of our time in sailing and industrial design, always humble but still a fierce competitor on the race course.

Pelle’s career is long and impressive, both as an athlete as well as an industrial designer. As a 12 year old he won the final of the soapbox car series in Stockholm, Sweden in front of 33 000 spectators and he’s been a champion ever since. At 19 year old he won the Kings Cup for the 4th time and received the trophy from King Gustav V
Sailing competitively in multiple classes, he has earned two Olympic medals and dozens of World Championships. A highlight is definitely winning the World Championship title in the Star class at the 1969 Worlds in San Diego. During two America’s Cup campaigns, he acted not only as the skipper and helmsman, he designed the 12M yacht Sverige as well. He also competed in the Whitbread Round the World Race. Making him a well rounded sailor in all areas. To honor his achievements he was elected in to the Swedish Sailing Hall of Fame as no. 1.
His industrial design career got an impressive start with the design of the Volvo P1800, voted one of the last century’s most beautiful cars and famous from among other things the tv series The Saint with Roger Moore. Among his designs you can find, watches, a toilet, furniture, tablewear, boats, cars, motorcycles, a Stena Ferry, just about anything you can think of. More than 100 000 boats have been built from Pelle’s designs including the Nimbus and Maxi Yachts and world champion winning designs in the 6M, 8M class and other famous Off Shore races. He was awarded the KTH Royal Institute of Technology’s Great Prize in 2004. In 2011 he was presented with H. M. the King’s Medal 12th size for special merits by King Carl XVI Gustav.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Our brand should be visible but make minimal environmental impact.
From the beginning of Pelle P, caring of the environment has always been a concern of ours and an important philosophy for our brand. Pelle Petterson himself knows the importance of caring for nature and the environment, having lived almost all his life participating in sports such as sailing, golf, alpine and cross-country skiing. It is from this mindset Pelle P originated.
But for us, it is not just about creating products that meet our customers expectations. It is also about using materials that can handle tough wear when used while having the lowest possible environmental impact. We carefully select the materials we work with followed by a lot of tests to make sure they meet our requirements. This is the basis of our mainly focus, to create long lasting product that will last with our customers for many years.
The technologies used to recycle fabrics are still in constant development and the potential is promising. We use recycled polyester in many fabrics and insulation materials. Each season, the proportion of recycled materials in our collection is getting bigger and bigger and with the help of innovate partners, we are constantly moving forward.
Most part of our padded garments use recycled polyester padding from already existing plastic as PET-bottles. Which is a process where the plastic gets a new life to become something new from an already existing material.
We understand that in order to make a difference in environmental impact, everyone must take responsibility. Therefore, it is important to us to continue to innovate. The production of clothing (and most other physical products) will undoubtedly affect the environment, however it is possible to influence how big the impression will be.
In addition to using sustainable materials, we also use other methods to stay as environmentally friendly as possible. For example, more and more of our suppliers use closed water systems and are self-sufficient of electricity from solar energy. We always try to help customers to repair broken garments so that the garments can last longer. Items that are not sold in our outlets are given away to charity. Within our stores, the customers always receive a degradable and reusable bag instead of a plastic bag.
Those who work with our product development visit our production partners each year to ensure a good quality standard and working environment, as well as maintaining good relationship with our suppliers that also is an important component in sustainable manufacturing. We always work directly with our suppliers, without intermediators to get the best cooperation and transparency of our work. That makes our relationships closer, reliable and increases our influence in the value chain. Some of our suppliers have been with us from the beginning and have grown together with us for many years. Our suppliers are mainly placed in Asia; China, India, Bangladesh and also Turkey.
We are doing a lot of good work today, but at the same time we know that we can always find ways to improve.

The P Putter is developed and manufacture in Sweden, with a unique, functional design and exceptional balance that will build your confidence in every putt. The putter is the most used golf club during a round of golf. On average, the putter is used at approximately 50% of all shots.
The P Putter’s head and neck are precision milled in the high grade aluminum alloy Zicral.
The bullet shaped balancing weights at the outer ends of the putter head and the counterweight at the top of the grip are lathed in stainless steel.
Artisanal production takes place in Billdal, Sweden. The combination of material and design increases stability and provides the ball impact with a special and reassuring sound. A very high MOI (moment of inertia) is achieved though the balance weights position, which further is enhanced through the design of the putter neck. The large offset neck helps to ensure that the hands and shaft lead the club head and ball through the stroke. A ball scoop is designed behind the center of the clubface, this is a semi-spherical recess having a radius corresponding to a golf ball.
The shape of the”ball scope” and the long sight line in the middle of the scoop makes it easier for the player to align the putter towards the target.
The sight line also aids the putter movement when the club head is swinged backward and forward in a vertical plane, swing path that coincides with the specific target.
The unique and functional design of the P Putter, with its perfect balance, is intended to inspire confidence in the player to provide greater precision and aid distance control with a good feel.
