We are a Belgian/Greek yacht charter operator company, offering bareboat and skippered charters, as well as flotillas. Although based in Brussels, Belgium, the main base port for our sailing holidays is the unique port city of Volos - the capital of Magnesia and the ideal place to embark on a fantastic sailing holiday.

We also have a seasonal second base in Loutraki, on Skopelos Island.

The Pagasitikos Gulf is a round-shaped gulf in the region of Magnesia, with the city of Volos as its main port. The gulf is embraced by Mount Pelion, with an opening to the Aegean Sea. Pelion is an area of incredible beautya high mountain with abundant fauna and flora, combined with stunning beaches. The Pagasitikos Gulf is ideal for relaxed sailing, as the sea is relatively calm, with gentle winds that are channelled down from Pelion. Sailing here will give you the opportunity to discover the captivating beauty of its many unspoilt bays, with their teal-coloured waters. Swim in the glimmering waters near Lefokastro or Nies. Taste the local specialities in one of the many pretty seaside villages - Pelion’s speciality (spetzofai) in the delightful Kato Gatzea or Afissos, fresh tuna in Kottes or crayfish spaghetti on the little island of Trikeri.

Der Pagasitikos Golf ist ein etwa kreisförmiger Golf in Magnesia mit der Stadt Volos als Haupthafen. Der Golf ist eingeschlossen zwischen dem Pelion-Gebirge und dem Festland und einer Öffnung zur Ägäis. Pelion ist ein Ort von unglaublicher Schönheit, hohen Bergen mit einer reichen Fauna und Flora sowie entzückenden Buchten und Stränden. Dieser Golf ist ideal für entspanntes Segeln, da die See im Allgemeinen relativ ruhig ist mit sanften Fallwinden vom Pelion-Gebirge. De Golf Pagasitikos is een cirkelvormige baai in Magnesia, met de stad Volos als belangrijkste haven. Deze golf is ingesloten door de Pelion berg en het vasteland met een uitweg naar de Egeïsche zee. De Pelion is een gebied met een ongeloofijke schoonheid, hage bergen, prachtige fauna en flora, afgewisseld met schitterende stranden. Le golfe est entouré à l’est par le Mont Pélion et communique avec la mer Egée via le chenal de Trikeri. Pélion est un massif d’une beauté incroyable, avec une faune et flore abondante. En bas de ses deux versants on y trouve des plages superbes. Le golfe Pagasitikos est idéal pour une croisière à voile détendue, compte tenu que la mer y est relativement calme, avec une brise légère venant de Mont Pélion. Votre bateau vous donnera l’occasion de découvrir la beauté captivante des nombreuses baies et criques sauvages et des eaux turquoises. Nagez dans les eaux cristallines près de Lefokastro ou de Nies. Goûtez aux spécialités locales dans l’un des nombreux villages côtiers, la spécialité par excellence du Pélion (spetzofai) à Kato Gatzea ou à Afissos, le thon frais à Kottes ou encore les pâtes aux écrivisses sur l’île de Trikeri.

Northern Evia has lovely golden beaches surrounded by pine trees. It is dominated by forested mountains where you can find many pretty villages. Oreoi offers good harbour facilities. Despite the distance, it’s worth visiting Aidipsos - a lively town, long-renowned for the healing powers of its natural thermal springs.

Nordeuböa hat schöne goldene Strände mit Pinien, die fast bis zum Strand herab reichen. Der Hafen in Oreoi bietet zahlreiche Annehmlichkeiten. Trotz der Entfernung ist es es wert Aidipsos zu besuchen, eine lebendige Stadt, lange bekannt für die heilende Kraft seiner natürlichen Thermalquellen.

Noord Evia heeft prachtige gouden stranden omgeven door pijnbomen. Het wordt gedomineerd door bosrijke bergen met vele prettige dorpjes. Oreoi biedt goede havenfaciliteiten. Ondanks de afstand is het de moeite waard om Aidipsos te bezoeken, een levendig stadje, al lang gekend voor de genezende kracht van zijn natuurlijke thermale bronnen.

L’Eubée du Nord dispose de belles plages de sable doré bordées de pins qui atteignent presque les rivages. Elle est dominée par des montagnes boisées où vous découvrez de nombreux jolis villages. Oreoi offre de bons aménagements portuaires. Malgré la distance, il est également intéressant de visiter Aidipsos, une ville réputée depuis les temps romains pour les vertus curatives de ses sources thermales naturelles.

The Sporades Islands include Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros. Sailing here is perfect for discovering some of the best Aegean beaches, as well as the many smaller uninhabited islands that are only accessible by boat. The southern coastlines of the islands are protected from the summer Meltemi (strong northerly winds).

Skiathos is a popular tourist destination, with its own airport, all necessary tourist facilities, a vibrant nightlife and over 60, chiefly sandy, beaches. You will find countless moored yachts and plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and trendy bars in Skiathos Town.

Skopelos is the greenest island in Greece. The island has an unrivalled natural beauty and ecological balance, with its lush emerald forest and clear blue sea and sky. Walk in the maze of narrow flower-scented streets in Glossa and in the colourful main town of Skopelos.

Alonissos is renowned for its unique Marine Park, where the Mediterranean Monk Seal and other marine animals can be spotted. Explore the secret coastal caves and the neighbouring uninhabited islands. Be sure to visit the fascinating history museum in Patitiri harbour and the traditional ‘Old Town’.

Skyros is a bigger island, with many secluded beaches, and has little tourist development. Enjoy the speciality ‘lobster spaghetti’, with a stunning sunset view in the charming port of Linaria. Explore Skyros Town, with its quaint cobbled streets and cycladic architecture.

Zu den Sporaden Inseln gehören die Inseln Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos und Skyros. Segeln ist hier der perfekte Weg, um einige der besten Ägäis Strände und die zahlreichen kleineren unbewohnten Inseln, die nur per Boot erreichbar sind zu entdecken. Die südlichen Küsten der Inseln sind gut gegen den “Meltemi” (starke nördliche Winde) geschützt.

Skiathos ist ein bekanntes Tourismus-Ziel, mit einem eigenen Flughafen und allen notwendigen Tourismus-Einrichtungen sowie einem belebten Nacht-leben und über 60, meist sandigen, Stränden. Skiathos-Stadt verfügt über zahllosen Jachten im Hafen sowie Restaurants, Cafés und Trendbars.

Skopelos ist die grünste Insel Griechenlands. Die Insel hat eine unvergleichlich schönen Natur und ökologisches Gleichgewicht. Wandern Sie in das Labyrinth der engen, nach Blumen duftenden Straßen in der bunten Hauptstadt und in Glossa.

Alonissos ist bekannt für seinen einzigartigen Meerespark, wo die Mönchsrobbe heimisch ist. Erkunden Sie die Höhlen, die entlang der Küste liegen, sowie die benachbarten unbewohnten Inseln. Das Museum in der Hafenstadt Patitri und die Altstadt sollten Sie nicht verpassen.

Obgleich Skyros eine viel größere Insel ist, hält sich der Tourismus hier in Grenzen und erhält so eine besonders ruhige Atmosphäre. Genießen Sie die Spezialität (Hummer-Spaghetti) mit dem Sonnenuntergang im Hafen von Linaria. Machen Sie einen Spaziergang durch SkyrosStadt, mit seiner weißen Cykladen-Architektur.

De Sporaden eilanden omvatten Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos en Skyros. Zeilen in deze regio van de Egeïsche Zee kan perfect om de vele stranden en kleine onbewoonde eilanden te ontdekken, die alleen met de boot toegankelijk zijn. De zuidelijke kustlijn van deze eilanden is beschermd tegen de zomer Meltemi (sterke noordelijke winden).

Skiathos is een zeer populaire toeristische trekpleister met een eigen luchthaven en alle mogelijke toeristische faciliteiten, een kosmopolitisch nachtleven en meer dan 60 meestal zandstranden. U vindt er designwinkels, talrijke aangemeerde jachten en een overschot aan restaurants en trendy bars.

Skopelos is het “groenste” eiland van Griekenland. Het eiland heeft een natuurlijke schoonheid en een ecologische balans tussen weelderige smaragd bossen en blauwe zee en hemel. Kuier in de doolhof van smalle bloem versierde straten in Glossa en in de kleurrijke hoofdstad Skopelos.

Alonissos is bekend om haar uniek Marine Park waar u de mediterrane monniksrob aantreft samen met andere zeedieren. Verken de kust en grotten van de naburige onbewoonde eilanden zonder de “oude stad” en het fascinerend geschiedenismuseum in het havendorpje Patitiri te vergeten.

Skyros is het grootste eiland met veel afgelegen stranden en een lage toeristische ontwikkeling. Geniet van de specialiteit (kreeften spaghetti) en het prachtig zicht op de zonsondergang in de charmante haven van Linaria. Verken Skyros stad met zijn schilderachtige straatjes en Cycladische architectuur.

Les Iles Sporades incluent Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos et Skyros. C’est la destination parfaite pour découvrir les plus belles plages de l’Egée, ainsi que les petits îles inhabitées et accessibles uniquement par bateau. Les côtes sud sont protégées du Meltemi (vent du nord puissant).

Skiathos est une destination touristique très prisée, avec son propre aéroport et tous les services touristiques nécessaires, offrant une vie nocturne trépidante et pour la journée le choix entre plus de 60 plages de sable. Skopelos est l’île la plus verte en Grèce. L’île a une beauté naturelle incomparable, avec des couleurs allant du vert foncé des forêts de pins, au turquoise de la mer et le bleu-azur du ciel. Promenez-vous dans le dédale des ruelles charmantes de la bourgade de Glossa, ainsi que de la ville principale et colorée de Skopelos.

Alonissos est réputée pour son parc marin, où vous pouvez apercevoir la phoque-moine et des dauphins. Explorez les grottes côtières et les îles voisines inhabitées. Vous devriez aussi visiter la ‘Vielle-ville’ et le musée d’histoire au port de Patitiri.

Bien que Skyros soit plus grande que ses sœurs, elle est moins développée et on y trouve beaucoup de plages désertes. Goutez la spécialité locale (pâtes servies avec du homard) face au coucher de soleil dans le port charmant de Linaria. Promenez-vous dans la petite ville de Skyros (Chora) avec ses rues pavées et son architecture cycladique.

l NUTTIGE INFORMATIE l INFORMATIONS UTILES

From which base can I start my charter?

We offer weekly charters from our main base in Volos (operating all year round) and from our second base in Loutraki, Skopelos Island (operating mid May to early October). Some of our yachts are allocated to our Volos base and others to our Loutraki base (as seen on the price list).

For charter requests from Skiathos, we highly advise chartering from our base in Loutraki harbour instead (which is just opposite Skiathos Port). It is more relaxed, we have facilities there (including showers, wifi and safe luggage storage) and can provide a better service. Loutraki is only a 20-minute ferry ride from Skiathos Port.

Which day in the week can I start my charter?

Charters start on Saturdays or Fridays (for some yachts and depending on availability). Our flotilla-operated yachts can only be chartered on Fridays and from our Loutraki base.

Included in charter price: One full set per week: bed linen, bath towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, pillows and light quilted blankets. Other items include: full kitchen equipment (including plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils), dinghy with oars, autopilot, GPS/Plotter, full water tank, one set of snorkelling gear, Greek Waters Pilot and charts of the sailing region.

Check-in/out: Your yacht will be prepared with a full inventory - check-in is no later than 17:00 and check-out is by 09:00.

Fuel tank: The same principle as when you rent a car applies - you receive the yacht with a full tank of fuel and then you pay only for the fuel that you have used at the end of your trip.

Yacht safety: Yachts come with full safety and navigation equipment, including life jackets, flares, VHF, GPS, life raft, autopilot, EPIRB, charts and pilot book for the region.

Mooring fees: None in our Volos or Loutraki bases on the first and last night of the charter. Various small fees on the Sporades Islands.

Sailing Qualifications:: If you are booking a bareboat charter or flotilla, you must hold a qualified skipper licence - day skipper competent level (from a recognised body) or an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) as a skipper - and have adequate sailing experience. You should also have a co-skipper at competent crew certificate level or with appropriate experience.

Von welchen Hafen aus kann ich meine Reise anfangen?

Zu jeder Jahreszeit bieten wir wöchentliche Charter von unseren zwei Häfen ins Volos und Louthraki an. Zwischen Mitte Mai bis Anfang Oktober können Sie auch von der Skopelos Insel aus abreisen. Einige unserer Jachten werden vom Hafen in Volos aus betrieben und andere immer vom Hafen in Skopelos, wie unserer Preisliste entnehmbar.

Für Charter von Skiathos, empfehlen wir Ihnen wärmstens Ihren Charter von unserem Basis-hafen in Loutraki zu starten. Der Hafen liegt direkt gegenüber von Skiathos und ist von dort nur ein zwanzigminütige Fährenstrecke entfernt. Darüberhinaus, bietet Ihnen unser Basishafen in Loutraki Duschmöglichkeiten, Wifi, und die Aufbewahrung Ihres Gepäcks. Diese Option garantiert Ihnen eine stressfreie Urlaubsabfolge.

Wann kann meine Reise anfangen?

Charter beginnen Freitags oder Samstags (abhängig von Yacht und Verfügbarkeit). Charter von Jachten, die als Flottille gebucht wurden, können nur Freitags von unserem Hafen in Loutraki beginnen.

Check-in/out: Vor ablegen gibt es eine vollständige Bestandsaufnahme - Der Check-In beginnt um 17:00 Uhr und der Check-out beginnt um 09:00 Uhr.

Kraftstofftank: Das gleiche Prinzip gilt, wie wenn Sie ein Auto mieten - Sie erhalten die Jacht mit einem vollen Tank und zahlen bei Ihrer Rückkehr den Kraftstoff den Sie verbraucht haben.

Segelqualifikationen: Wenn Sie ein Bareboat-Charter oder Flottille buchen, müssen Sie ausreichend Segelerfahrung haben und über eine qualifizierte Skipper Lizenz, Tag-Skipper Lizenz (von anerkannter Stelle) oder ein International Certificate of Competence (ICC) als Skipper verfügen. Sie sollten auch einen Co-Skipper mit entsprechender Erfahrung (“competent crew certificate level”) haben.

- All our yachts are properly covered by PANTAENIUS with hull and third-party liability for charter business. The clients’ liability is limited to the security deposit or the damage waiver (plus excess), unless the damage or loss is due to their gross negligence or intentional act.

- All unseren Jachten sind ordnungsgemäß versichert von PANTAENIUS gegen Schaden die von Drittparteien verursacht werden, mit Rumpfversicherung und Haftung. Der höchste Kundenbeteiligungssatz entspricht der Kaution oder Yachtschadenversicherung (plus Selbstbeteiligung), außer der Schadensfall ist auf grob verlässige Handlung oder Absicht zurückzuführen.

Vanuit welke basis kan mijn charter starten?

Wij bieden wekelijkse charters aan vanuit onze hoofdbasis in Volos (het hele jaar rond operationeel) en vanuit onze tweede basis Loutraki op Skopolos eiland (operationeel van midden mei tot begin oktober). De meeste van onze jachten zijn gelinkt aan onze basis Volos; de anderen aan onze Loutraki basis, zoals op onze prijslijst staat aangegeven.

Voor charteraanvragen vanuit Skiathos adviseren wij Loutraki als startplaats van de charter (juist tegenover Skiathos gelegen). Loutraki is op 20 minuten bereikbaar per ferry vanuit Skiathos haven. Loutraki haven is rustiger en wij kunnen er meer faciliteiten aanbieden zoals sanitair, wifi en veilig opslaan van bagage; kortom vanuit Loutraki kunnen wij een betere service aanbieden.

Op welke weekdag kan mijn charter starten?

Charters starten steeds op zaterdag, voor sommige jachten op vrijdag (afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid). De flotilla jachten kunnen enkel vanaf vrijdag ingehuurd worden en enkel vanuit de basis Loutraki.

Kosteloze Uitrusting: Een volledige set per week: beddenlinnen, bad-, strand- en keukenhanddoeken, kussenslopen, lichte overdekens. Andere artikels zijn: volledige keukenuitrusting (inclusief borden, bekers, tassen, glazen, potten en pannen, keukengerei), dinghy met roeispanen, autopilot, GPS/Plotter, gevulde watertank, een set snorkelgereedschap, Greek Water Pilot, en zeekaarten van zeilgebied.

Check-in/out: onze jachten worden voorbereiden uitgerust met een volledige inventaris; check-in om 17:00u en check-out om 9:00u.

Brandstoftank: zelfde regeling als voor huurauto’s; u ontvangt het jacht met een volle brandstoftank en u betaalt enkel de verbruikte brandstof op het einde van uw zeiltocht.

Jacht en Veiligheid: onze jachten zijn uitgerust met een volledige veiligheid en navigatie-uitrusting, inclusief veiligheidsvesten, veiligheidslichten, EPIRB, VHF radio, GPS, reddingsboot, autopilot en zeekaarten.

Aanleg of Ankervergoeding: gratis in onze vertrekbasis Volos en/of Loutraki voor de eerste en laatste nacht van de charter. Voorts zeer bescheiden of geen vergoedingen afhankelijk van de aanlegplaats op de Sporaden Eilanden.

Zeilervaring en Kwalificatie: als u een bareboat charter of flotilla wil boeken, moet u over voldoende zeilervaring beschikken samen met een licentie van gekwalificeerd schipper (dagskipper), afgeleverd door een erkende organisatie of een Internationaal Certificate of Competence (ICC). Er dient eveneens een co-skipper aan boord te zijn met dito certificaat of relevante ervaring op crew niveau.

A partir de quelle base puis-je louer?

Notre base principale se situe à la marina de Volos (opérant toute l’année), mais nous avons aussi une deuxième base à Loutraki, sur l’île de Skopelos (opérant de mi-mai jusqu’à début Octobre). Certains de nos voiliers sont alloués à notre base à Volos et d’autres à notre base à Loutraki. Vous pouvez voir le port d’attache de chaque voilier sur notre liste de prix.

Concernant les demandes de location au départ de Skiathos, nous vous conseillons fortement de commencer votre périple à partir de notre base à Loutraki (qui se trouve en face de Skiathos) au lieu du port de Skiathos, compte tenu que nous avons de meilleures installations à notre base (sanitaires et douches, wifi et garde sécurisée pour bagages) pour mieux vous servir. Veuillez noter que Loutraki est seulement à 20 minutes en ferry du port de Skiathos.

A partir de quel jour puis-je commencer mes vacances à voile?

Nous offrons des vacances sur une base hebdomadaire, commençant les Samedis ou les Vendredis (pour certains de nos bateaux et selon la disponibilité). Nos bateaux alloués à la flottille ne peuvent être loués que les vendredis.

Inclus dans le prix: Un ensemble complet par semaine: linges de lit, serviettes de bain, serviettes de plage, serviettes de cuisine, oreillers, couvertures légers. Sont aussi inclus: Équipement de cuisine complète (y compris les assiettes, bols, tasses, verres, couverts, ustensiles de cuisine), dinghy avec rames, pilote automatique, GPS/traceur, réservoir d’eau pleine, masque, tuba et palmes, Greek Waters Pilot, et Carte maritime de la région.

Check-in/out: Votre voilier sera équipé et présenté conformément à la liste de l’inventaire. Le check-in est jusqu' à 17:00 et le check-out à 09:00.

Réservoir de carburant: Le même principe qu’en louant une voiture s’applique: vous recevez le voilier avec un réservoir plein de carburant. A la fin de votre voyage, vous ne payez que pour le carburant que vous avez consommé.

Sécurité à bord: Nos voiliers sont livrés avec tout l’équipement de sécurité et de navigation, y compris les gilets de sauvetages, fusées, VHF, GPS, radeau de sauvetage, pilote automatique, EPIRB et des cartes maritimes de la région.

Frais d’amarrage: Il n’y en a aucun dans nos bases à Volos et Loutraki pendant la première et dernière nuit de votre location. Il existe quelques petits frais divers aux ports principaux de Skiathos, Skopelos et Alonissos.

Permis de Navigation: Pour louer sans skipper, vous devez posséder un permis de skipper qualifié - au niveau de compétence du Day Skipper (d’un organisme reconnu) ou l’ICC (International Certificate of Competence), avec une expérience de navigation adéquate. Vous devez aussi avoir un co-skipper ou un équipage compétent à bord.

CHARTER SEASON TASKS

Sail Aegean Services (SAS) is committed throughout the charter season to accomplish, from the respective base, all the check-in and check-out procedures with the charterers, as well as to arrange provisions and carry out an inspection of the yacht, as a representative of the yacht owner.

WINTERISATION

Throughout the winter period and at our own spacious boatyard within the port of Volos, work related to the preservation of the yacht includes:

l Supervising work from all technical teams involved in the winterisation.

l Preserving all the equipment of the yacht.

l Carrying out all necessary works on the winterisation technical list.

GENERAL WORK

l Life raft inspection.

l Fire extinguisher maintenance or replacement.

l VHF and EPIRB maintenance and inspection.

l Safekeeping of Certificates.

MANAGEMENT

l Berth location for the boat and guardianship.

l Dealing with all paper work regarding ports and marinas, Port Police, accounts and the tax office.

l Preparation of the yacht for charter or for the owner’s use during the charter season (April to October).

l Dry-docking in our spacious yacht parking facility within the port of Volos.

Since the beginning of its yacht charter operations in 2011, SAIL AEGEAN’s goal has been to invest in high-quality new sailing yachts, so that its clients can enjoy wonderful sailing holidays in one of the best sailing areas of Greece.

With our ever-expanding fleet and growing success, our own boatyard, warehouse/chandlery and very experienced inhouse marine technical service team, we strive to offer the best charter service in the region. The Sail Aegean Nautical Resort is being built on 4 hectares of a green slope stretching from the South Pelion road to a small marina and a sandy beach, overlooking the Pagasitikos Gulf and its surrounding land of Magnesia. It is just 20 km away from the city of Volos and only just over 10 nm from the exit to the Aegean Sea on the way to the Sporades Islands.

Charter: 12 - 25 August 2022, BAVARIA 40 'EURYBIA'

The trip did not start well. One of the three crew members was infected with Corona 4 days before departure. So off we went in twos. When we arrived in Volos, we were welcomed by a very friendly Sail Aegaen crew. The booked yacht could be taken over after a short waiting time. Everything was perfectly prepared. Even a delivery service for the purchase of our food was organised, thank you Vilma. The sailing area in the Pagasitic Gulf is very varied and less exposed to Meltemi than the islands in the Aegean. There are a few places with possibilities to moor or anchor. We did a circuit around the eastern part of the gulf. After all, there were only two of us! The return of the yacht also went very professionally and well. When I got home, I realised that I had forgotten a USB stick on board. But no problem. With the help of Vilma, my angel of help, I was soon able to take possession of the stick again. We are happy to have found such a wellorganised charter company and can only recommend them. We wish the entire team of Sail Aegean in Volos all the best and keep up the good work.
