Embark on an origin tale delving into the vibrant and mythical early years of an imaginative young inventor. Witness the journey before he transforms into the acclaimed, scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate, as his story unfolds with creativity and sweetness.

Having previously failed in his attempt to defeat Aquaman, Black Manta remains relentlessly determined to avenge his father's death. This time, he emerges even more formidable, wielding the formidable Black Trident, a mythical weapon unleashing an ancient and malevolent force. Faced with this new threat, Aquaman seeks an unconventional solution by turning to his incarcerated brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis. In a surprising alliance, the estranged siblings must set aside their differences to safeguard their kingdom and prevent irreversible destruction that threatens not only Aquaman's family but the entire world.

In director Takashi Yamazaki's fresh interpretation of Godzilla, he takes viewers on a cinematic journey set in postwar Tokyo. Against the backdrop of a city reduced to rubble by fire bombings and defenseless in the aftermath, chaos ensues with the arrival of a colossal, rampaging monster. As the narrative unfolds, the dire situation escalates from bad to a perilous 'minus one,' weaving a compelling tale of destruction and survival

PIMA CANYON TRAIL

ARIZONA

Distance: 10.4 miles | Elevation gain: 666 feet Route: Out and Back | Hike Type: Hard Pima Canyon Trail is a 10.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back hike. Located at the Northwest side of Tucson on the edge of the front range of the Santa Catalina Mountains lies the Iris O. Dewhirst trail- also commonly known as the Pima Canyon Trail #62. This well-traveled and well-known trail is popular among trail runners, hikers, and day trippers. Though the stream in Pima Canyon is dry for most of the year, it supports an excellent example of a desert riparian habitat conveniently close to the Tucson metropolitan area. From the trailhead, located among suburban ranchos, the trail ascends a V-shaped notch carved along the south face of Pusch Ridge. Views down the canyon get better as you climb, encompassing the city of Tucson and distant mountains and valleys. The riparian

area on the canyon floor provides excellent birdwatching for a wide variety of resident and migratory species that use this most productive of all desert habitat types. There are some desert creatures you may encounter in this area including javelina and jackrabbits. Still, the real viewing prize of Pima Canyon and the entire Pusch Ridge area is the desert bighorn sheep that maintain a surefooted existence here among rocky crags and rugged canyons. Beyond Pima Spring, the trail becomes steeper and harder to follow as it continues to climb to the upper slopes of Mt. Kimball. Here, you can catch incredible views of Window Rock and Cathedral Rock. The trail ends at its junction with the Finger Rock Trail #42. Directions from Tucson: Drive north from Tucson on the Oracle Road (US 89). Turn east on Magee Road and drive to the parking area and trailhead at the road's end.

DEC EMBE R 2023 • December 4 - Mercury at Greatest Eastern Elongation. The planet Mercury reaches greatest eastern elongation of 21.3 degrees from the Sun. This is the best time to view Mercury since it will be at its highest point above the horizon in the evening sky. Look for the planet low in the western sky just after sunset. • December 12 - New Moon. The Moon will be located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This phase occurs at 23:33 UTC. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere. • December 13, 14 - Geminids Meteor Shower. The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower in the heavens, producing up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. The shower runs annually from December 7-17. It peaks this year on the night of the 13th and morning of the 14th. This should be a great year for the Geminids. The nearly new moon means dark skies for what should be an excellent show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Gemini, but can appear anywhere in the sky. • December 21, 22 - Ursids Meteor Shower. The Ursids is a minor meteor shower producing about 5-10 meteors per

hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tuttle, which was first discovered in 1790. The shower runs annually from December 17-25. It peaks this year on the night of the 21st and morning of the 22nd. The waxing gibbous moon will block out most of the faintest meteors this year. But if you are patient, you should still be able to catch a few good ones. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Ursa Minor, but can appear anywhere in the sky. • December 22 - December Solstice. The December solstice occurs at 03:21 UTC. The South Pole of the earth will be tilted toward the Sun, which will have reached its southernmost position in the sky and will be directly over the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.44 degrees south latitude. This is the first day of winter (winter solstice) in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of summer (summer solstice) in the Southern Hemisphere. • December 27 - Full Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be fully illuminated. This phase occurs at 00:34 UTC. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Cold Moon because this is the time of year when the cold winter air settles in and the nights become long and dark. This moon has also been known as the Long Nights Moon and the Moon Before Yule.
