Fr. Gary Sanders, O.S.A., ‘67 Editor’s note: The school is proud of the leadership provided by the St. Augustine High School Board of Directors. To thank and honor them and at the same time let the Saints Community to know them a bit more, Saints Scene has been highlighting individual Board members with a series of profiles during 2019.
HOMECOMING WEEK. Homecoming at Saints isn’t a one trick pony. The Saints Community embraces the event by holding an entire Homecoming Week filled with a pep rally, car show, live rock band, Homecoming Dance and elect a Homecoming Queen and King. And, that’s not mentioning the drama of the Homecoming game, especially when the opponent is no roll-over. More Homecoming Photos see page ####.

Here's Why Intersession is Such a Hit At St. Augustine High School, our desire to help students develop a passion for learning can sometimes be difficult to accomplish in traditional college prep classes. As such, Saints developed the Intersession term in an effort to provide students the opportunity to investigate studies in areas that interest them and by doing so, spark a curiosity and inquisitiveness that naturally stimulates their desire to learn new things. This school year’s Intersession features a vast array of course offerings that include some old favorites such as: Robotics, Music Technology, Skills for Life, Marine Biology/SCUBA, Careers in Sports, Film Production, Introduction to Architecture, Aquatic Sports, and Lifetime Physical Fitness. Fr. Gary Sanders OSA graduated from Saints in 1967. He was the yearbook editor and sang in the school’s choir. His favorite teachers were Fr. Harry Neely (Latin and choir) and Mr. John Bowman (sophomore and senior English.) “In addition to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, who taught me grammar and composition, John Bowman helped me become a writer,” Fr.
