President's Message from Scott

Sahalee is officially “on the clock!” As host of the 2024 KPMG Women’s Championship, Leslie, Bryan and Charlie, along with most of the Executive Committee, attended this year’s event at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey. The contingent met with Baltusrol club leadership to gain a fuller, first-hand understanding of operations and expectations. We also spent significant time building deeper relationships with the PGA of America. It was a fabulous experience and the learnings we each took away were immense. Our collective experience will help ensure a fantastic event in 2024, for players, sponsors, patrons, and Sahalee Members. Before I share our insights, I would like to thank Tyler Dion, Whitney Pigott and Norman Cheuk who generously covered expenses and used their vacation time (along with yours truly) to help Sahalee with this critical endeavor (note: our policy was all members would fully cover all of their own expenses except the club would reimburse the Tournament Chair only for his hotel and meals on KPMG required days).

Inspiration from Baltusrol

It was an honor and privilege to represent Sahalee at the 2023 KPMG Women’s Championship From the moment we stepped onto the Baltusrol grounds, we knew we were in rarefied air with a deep history of championship golf Baltusrol’s mission is to honor its heritage as the leading 36-hole championship golf club in America Founded in 1895 Baltusrol has been synonymous with American championship golf since 1901, hosting 16 USGA Championships and two PGA Championships with more scheduled to follow Sahalee founders had a similar vision in mind in creating the High Heavenly Ground we are all fortunate to call home

Touring the clubhouse prior to the Pro-Am, the club’s history was on display throughout. With photos, paintings and artifacts, the history of both member events and hosted majors is brought to life. Walking the halls and rooms, one is constantly reminded of the storied past of Baltusrol Golf Club.

On Tuesday, Bryan Nicholson, Tyler Dion, and I had the honor of representing Sahalee in the KPMG ProAm (the following year’s hosting site gets a complimentary entry). We were paired with Gaby Lopez, the #44 ranked golfer in the world. Gaby was loads of fun, willing to answer questions, snap photos with us, and play good golf. We were thrilled when Gaby declared walking down the first fairway “I tell EVERYONE that Sahalee is my favorite course in the world!” She went on to explain how the tall trees and manicured fairways experienced during her participation in the 2016 KPMG Women’s Championship “spoke to my soul.” It may have been her deep connection to our club that propelled us to the ProAm victory – something that was celebrated throughout the week by all who we encountered.

Baltusrol had little touches that reinforced their championship heritage Most notable was the plaque in the eighteenth fairway if the Lower Course where Jack Nicklaus hit a 1-iron from 238 yards out “as hard as I could” to 22 feet from the hole to capture the 1967 US Open title. Personally, the experience of walking and playing another championship course “inside the ropes” was the thrill of a lifetime. As a Sahalee member, we all get that experience every time we tee it up. It is with this vision that Sahalee has been investing in small, visible touches that elevate the Sahalee brand as an elite championship venue (e.g., driving range, tee markers, signage). Most of these investments come from capital (not dues) and elevate the experience for members, guests, prospective members, course raters, and hosting selection committees. We have a treasure of a course paired with an amazing team to provide us all with championship experiences.

We spent time with the PGA as well as club leadership at Baltusrol and Merion Golf Club. From these conversations, I took away several key learnings:

It was very clear through interactions with PGA leaders that the selection of Sahalee as next year’s host site puts us in the upper echelons of championship golf venues. The PGA has a huge variety of courses that would gladly host the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Yet they selected Sahalee as the first repeat host during the KPMG era. The entire Sahalee Team and Members should feel a sense of pride to play host in 2024. Through investments in their golf course, clubhouse, and the regular hosting of major championship events, both clubs have built a national brand that provides for a vibrant membership. It made me even more convinced that the investments Sahalee is making in our members’ experiences and facilities – which enable us to host major amateur and professional events -- is the right long-term strategy to enhance Sahalee’s reputation as the Best in the Northwest. Virtually everyone we met commented on their awe of Sahalee and excitement for the event next year. We even ran into USGA CEO Mike Whan, who immediately congratulated us on hosting the event. ·Each of the clubs offered a very similar variety of membership options to the newly established memberships at Sahalee Both clubs had several hundred National, Dining, and limited golf members which helps to build their community while also adding to operating and capital accounts Additionally, Baltusrol hosts dozens of outside paid events on Mondays The financial contributions from the non-golfing memberships and outside events are an important source of dues and capital that enable significant investment in their clubhouse and golf courses Through this approach, both clubs have installed Precision Air systems for their green complexes For me, it was clear there is no shortage of capital projects that Sahalee could pursue (with the appropriate funds secured) to continue to further differentiate ourselves and solidify our position as the Best in the Northwest

June Past Business

The Board reviewed May financial results which were below our original budget. Year to date, the club is slightly behind our original budget. We expect this small deficit will be overcome in the peak summer months as activities accelerate. However, to be cautious, management is working to identify savings opportunities without negatively impacting members’ experiences. Additionally, new capital planned for the back-half of 2023 will be delayed until there’s more clarity from our peak summer.

Membership continues to be a top focus for the Board. The Membership team hosted over 50 realtors in June to familiarize them with Sahalee and our membership options. This will help introduce new homeowners in the Sammamish area and beyond to Sahalee As momentum builds, we had great interest in Sahalee’s new Dining Membership This month the Board approved the recommendations from the Membership Committee for 24 new members in total Please welcome these members when you see them around Sahalee:

Three new Proprietary Members: Peter Brundrett, Dale & Cheryl Walker (Spousal Member), and Chris Bean. Seventeen new family Dining Members: Reg & Kristin Woitovich, Andrea & Robert Holmqvist, Lyne Brown & Denise DeMunnik, Eric & Susan Robinson, Austine Fleming, Derek & Eden Stephens, Vu Nguyen & Angie Ma, Charles & Patricia Lindbloom, Elizabeth Martin & Curtis Torrey, Karen Quick, Brian & Alyssa Schoonover, Tim & Diane Bond, Kari & John Sokol, David & Stacy Cinderella, Kathryn & Peter Murphy, Sahana Suresh & Sandeep Ashwini, Purnima Vasudevan &Harsha Prahlad & Family.

We have converted Social Members: Michael Porter, Kathleen Mercer, Trevor Roberge, Vic Peri. The Social membership (originally referred to as “Social Sport”) quickly reached the original cap of 30 memberships. Filled almost entirely by previous Sahalee Social Members opting to convert into the new offering. As a result, previous Social Members were ‘shut out’ of a membership type with limited golfing privileges. The Board didn’t feel it was appropriate to essentially ‘take away’ privileges from these members. Following a recommendation from the Membership Committee, the Board approved the expansion of the Social Membership cap to 35 members, allowing previous Sahalee members to convert from Dining to Social Membership. The Social membership category now has a waiting list to join.

The Board also adopted a new policy to provide past Proprietary Members who want to rejoin Sahalee a pathway to do so. The Board agreed that any past Proprietary Member, can pay the lesser of the current Membership Fee, or the missed dues and monthly capital contributions that accrued over their absence. Here’s to an incredible July together with friends and family at Sahalee. I hope to see you soon at the club!

Sincerely,

The Sahalee family warmly welcomes our new Golf Members!

Monthly Message from Leslie Ludlow, GM/COO

Happy Summer Sahalee Members,

I hope the warm weather and long days drenched in sun have meant the summer is off to a great start with lots of birdies and fun cold beverages for you! With the incredible buzz and constant stream of activity at the Club, there is no doubt that Sahalee is officially in full swing!

This past month our Golf Operations Team stole the show! The highlight was the highly anticipated Inaugural Pro's Exhibition. Despite the rain's best efforts, nearly 100 members gathered to enjoy a Friday evening filled with complimentary drinks, snacks and a show that won’t soon be forgotten. This incredible event that included your Pros nailing perfect ball flights, advising against “bad tips” and of course, thrilling, and amazing with hitting trick shots from the knees, balls covered in cups, balls stacked, spinning out of the bunker and more! Those in attendance are still trying to wrap their heads around the towering shots by Kyle that still haven’t landed, chased by 230-yard drives from his knees, the spins from Laura out of the bunker, the Colin “Cups” and the lob wedge juggling by Cody Bryan and his full team were then on display for those in attendance staying an extra hour to work with any members who wanted some “Pro Tips” to go It

was a night that won’t soon be forgotten

In addition to this incredible event, the tournament season ramped up and had numerous fantastic tournaments including the official kick-off to the SPC in the form of Husky Day, both President’s Cups, the US Kids Event boasting a full field, a Spooky SWD Field Day (that brought the weather to match) and the immersive 3-Day Raven’s Camp. Together these events rounded out an extraordinary month of golf at Sahalee!

June can be categorized as a juxtaposition in terms of member experiences in our food & beverage department. Some events showcased exceptional culinary delights with rave reviews, while others fell far short of all expectations. As we are striving to enhance our Food & Beverage offerings, as well as institute foundational and fundamental practices that were not formally present, we acknowledge the challenges that have been present in this rebuilding of our operation. The effect of losing a decade of institutional knowledge has been evident, as our new team navigates the process of understanding the Sahalee event culture and establishing processes that ensure high quality and experiences for all members to enjoy. Our team, while incredibly passionate about our members and Club, is also extraordinarily green. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to address these growing pains while in the full throes of the summer season.

Rebuilding a food & beverage operation typically takes between 12-18 months, and we are committed to actively addressing issues, learning from the challenges, and celebrating wins along the way. While the mid-summer timing makes a search challenging, we are conducting interviews in our search for a Food & Beverage Director and have some promising candidates working their way through the process In the meantime, we are optimistic that we are creating a foundation that will allow us to scale the program in a sustainable way Together, we will create a dining experience that reflects the sophistication and warmth of Sahalee

A brighter spot in June surrounded our membership growth initiatives which have yielded positive results Perhaps the biggest highlight was the successful Broker’s Open, hosted by Deann and Sarah Over 50 real estate agents enjoyed clubhouse and course tours, a putting contest and delectable drinks and bites This event marked the beginning of our more proactive approach to membership sales efforts and based on the energy and enthusiasm displayed that day, we are confident it will continue to bear fruitful results!

Finally, this past month, our KPMG Executive Committee embarked on a scouting trip to Baltusrol Golf Club, and it proved to be an overwhelming success. What better way to prepare for hosting the KPMG next year than by immersing ourselves in the behind-the-scenes operations of the 2023 tournament? Baltusrol, like Sahalee, has a rich history of hosting major championships, making it an ideal destination to gain invaluable insights. Spending time with Baltusrol’s operations team, especially observing the challenges during the busier weekend, led to fantastic discussions, sharing of best practices, and profound learnings. The trip not only ensured that we are fully prepared for the upcoming event, but also fueled our excitement to welcome the best ladies in the world next year! We cannot wait to showcase our hospitality and the unique Sahalee experience to all the participants and patrons who will have the opportunity to walk the High Heavenly Ground in June, 2024

We are looking forward to an exciting upcoming July filled with our very best tournaments of the year where memories are sure to be made and new champions crowned! Here’s to one of the most wonderful months of the year!

Letter From Bryan Nicholson, PGA Director of Golf

Summer is officially in full swing, and it’s been great to see the number of families that are coming out to the club in the late afternoons and evenings. Some of my fondest memories of summer include playing golf until dusk with my parents and friends and occasionally imagining that I was playing in the US Open with a putt on the 18th green for the win. There is nothing more stunning than the long shadows cast across the course during these sunny summer afternoons. We also have the golf course in remarkable condition thanks to the incredible efforts our Director of Agronomy Charlie Schauwecker and Superintendent Pat Oien have led.

At the end of June, world renowned golf photographer Evan Schiller was on our campus to shoot the golf course, and the early results have been stunning to say the least. Evan regularly visits around 60-70 courses annually and described Sahalee as one of the “toughest” assignments he’s had throughout his career. Balancing the sunlight and shadows through the forested fairways created a challenge to capture holes at times throughout the day. Nonetheless, Evan secured thousands of pictures throughout the High Heavenly Ground, and we look forward to sharing these works of art with the membership soon The purpose of his visit was to provide us with updated course photos following the bunker renovation These assets will be used for our website, shared with the PGA of America for media, and other marketing/promotional uses

What a month ahead of us, as we will be hosting both our Men’s and Women’s Invitationals! Our ladies will be dubiously “Partners in Crime” on Thursday and Friday, July 13 & 14 Please take note that the golf course and practice amenities will be reserved for our Women’s Invitational until 5:00 p m on Thursday, July 13, and again until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 8. Later in the month, our Men’s Invitational will once again be an epic tournament with 108 teams competing in 18 flights of competition. Our defending Champions, Nelson Yu and George Neffner will attempt to reclaim their title! Practice rounds will commence on Wednesday, July 27, and our competitive dates will be Thursday – Saturday July 28 – 30. Please stay tuned to further announcements regarding course/practice amenities reservations.

Later this month, on Friday, July 21, we will provide an opportunity to get fit for the new Titleist Irons! Sahalee has once again been selected as one of 3 clubs in the Pacific Northwest to get the early “introduction” to the new T-Series Irons. 5 Fitters from the TPI facility in Oceanside will be onsite to provide these complimentary fittings to anyone that would like to experience the new iron lineup. If you are interested in being fit, please check-in with the golf professional staff to get registered, or you may click on the link in the weekly updates. Fitting appointments will be available from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on this date.

I would like to take a moment to share some exciting details on our Sahalee caddie program. The tradition of caddies at Sahalee extends deep into the history of the Club, and Sahalee has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Evans Scholar Program Some of you may have noticed the red bibs circulating on the course again this year as we’ve conducted training, and many are serving our hosted guest groups Through our golf services manager/Caddiemaster, Devin Brigham, we are managing our caddie program internally

Below are the details to the Sahalee Caddie Program:

We will offer both walking and forecaddie services for members and guests Caddie reservations must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance through the Golf Shop or via email at: caddiecentral@sahalee com Here you can drop our Caddiemaster an email request for caddie services Simply request the date and time and type of caddie (Walking Caddie or Forecaddie) you would like for your round All requests will be filled out on a first come first serve basis and be based upon our caddie availability

The responsibilities of the caddie include greeting each golfer in a courteous and professional manner, spotting tee shots, providing accurate yardages, replacing divots, raking bunkers and repairing ball marks, cleaning golf clubs and the golf ball on the green, assistance with reading putts, and tending the flagstick.

A Single Forecaddie services up to four players that are riding in golf carts. The Forecaddie fee is $30/player and recommended gratuity is $10 per player.

Single Carry Caddies are available for those players wanting to walk the course with their own personal caddie. The Single Carry Caddie fee is $80 per player and recommended gratuity is $20.

It is bittersweet for me to announce that Assistant Golf Professional Colin Campbell will be leaving our team effective Friday, July 14. Colin has accepted a position outside the golf world and will be working in Finance for BNY Mellon. We wish Colin all the very best in his next endeavor and thank him for his efforts and time with us. Please be sure to drop by the golf shop and extend your best wishes to him. I will be opening our efforts to replace Colin later this summer with the hope to identify our next Assistant Golf Professional before the end of the year

Have you ever walked off the course and said: "I played so well today except for my Why can't I just get everything working well during the same round?" Yep - I have said that too To finish this month, we are going to look at three things:

1 How often do players get every part of their game going strong during the same round? (e g , firing on all cylinders)

2. What parts of the game perform best during your best rounds?

3. What parts of the game perform worst during your worst rounds?

For the best rounds (the top quintile) what percent of the time will a player perform in the top quintile with their putting? What about driver? etc...

Your very best rounds, and your very worst rounds are more likely to be driven by how you hit your irons. All areas of the game are going to drive score, but for most players their irons and driver have a huge influence on the overall outcome. As a rule, the path to lower scores (and lower handicaps) is through better ball striking. Also - don't be frustrated after a round if 3 parts of your game were great, and that 4th part was not so great. That does not happen often. If you played 100 rounds a year, having a round where you "fire on all cylinders" will only happen about once every 20 years

Here is to a great summer of golf – and I’ll look forward to seeing you on the tee!

SPC Update

The Sahalee Players Championship (SPC) is the Men’s College event that Sahalee will be hosting on an annual basis starting in September 2023. Co-Hosted by UW Men’s Golf and Sahalee, the SPC will be one of the best fields in College Golf. The 2023 field includes Arizona, Arizona State, Duke, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Stanford, Texas, USC, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, and Washington.

Tournament Update – Countdown to September 2023

The SPC is just over 2 months away. Below are some highlights as the tournament approaches:

1. PGA Tour Event exemption to the Individual winner of the 2023 SPC. The top Individual player from the 72 players competing at the SPC this year will complete their round on Sunday and take a flight to Northern California as a participant in the 2023 Fortinet Championship on the PGA Tour. This elevates the SPC as one of only 3 NCAA tournaments that offer a professional exemption to the winner. This exemption will bring added interest with the Press and the global golf community. In partnership with Fortinet, Sahalee will be hosting a technology Security Summit at Sahalee on July 18th. If you or someone you know are in the technology and interested in attending the Security Summit – please contact myself or Chris Grusz

2. Volunteers – We still need a few Walking Scorers, Standard Bearers, Forecaddies. For general Volunteer questions or interest, please contact Kim Shek. Volunteers will receive a uniform and select other benefits during the tournament in addition to the opportunity to meet and get up close and personal with the players.

3 Housing – Half of the teams have requested host housing for the tournament This is a great opportunity to meet these young golfers and coaches and create relationships and experiences that last a lifetime Please contact Jeannine Gibson if you are interested

4 Schedule - The exact dates of the tournament are September 8th – 10th, 2023 MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The 8th (Friday) will be the official practice round for the teams and the day will conclude with an entertaining and casual event for teams, contestants, volunteers, and members The 9th (Saturday) will be a 36-hole competition day, and the 10th (Sunday) will be the final 18-hole competition day.

5. Sponsorship Update – There are sponsorship opportunities available for the SPC, that include logo promotion, golf experience with the SPC players, private hospitality suites, and a private golf outing at Sahalee. Additionally, for those of you who are UW fans/boosters or Tyee members – you can contribute to the SPC via the UW and have your contributions count towards Tyee points. If you or your company (or any company you know) are interested in Sponsorship opportunities with the SPC - please contact Chris Grusz, or Bryan Nicholson

SPC Update

A Moment in SPC History - 2014

In 2014, the SPC was still an independently run, individual amateur tournament that Sahalee hosted in early July. Amateur golf was growing quickly but had not expanded to its current state where most international players were playing US college NCAA golf, and there were a few less tournaments on the summer elite amateur calendar. The SPC was drawing better fields than the North and South Amateur at Pinehurst (the same week), and international players were flocking to Sahalee to begin their North American summers. This “perfect storm” led to a great field that at the time, none of us had an idea how great it was. The tournament was won by Mark Anguiano – a player from Cal State Fullerton, who while not the highest ranked player in the field, beat an incredible field on his way to turning professional later that summer. As we look down the historic scoring, it turns out that 2014 was chalk-full of what would become the best golfers in the world. So many of us who hosted players that year were so lucky to have these players at our house for a week, and even luckier to see them play the High Heavenly Ground. Here is a selection from that year:

This year’s SPC could be no different. Of the participating schools, the makeup of players likely to be playing this year at Sahalee will be:

• 6 Players who competed in this year’s US Open at LACC

• 12 Players who are currently ranked top 100 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking

• Teams attending the SPC have 22 of the top 100 ranked players in the NCAA Individual rankings from last year

• 10 of the 12 teams participating in the SPC this year finished the year ranked in the top 30

Mark your calendars for the SPC in early September it is going to be amazing! Thanks for reading and hope to see you all spectating or volunteering with the SPC

Sincerely,

KPMG Women’s PGA Players Spotlight

One of the most exuberant personalities on the LPGA Tour, Gaby Lopez has been involved with golf since she was 5 years old. A decorated junior golf career led her to the NCAA perennial powerhouse University of Arkansas, where she finished runner up in the 2015 National Championships. Her career on the LPGA Tour began in 2016, and over her 7 years on Tour, she’s won 3 different times, including last season’s Dana Open in Ohio. Lopez, currently ranked 53rd in the world, has twice participated in the summer Olympic Games representing her home country of Mexico in both the 2016 games in Rio, and 2020 in Tokyo. One of her greatest achievements was being asked by her home country to carry the torch and flag during the 2020 Games.

Last month, Scott Heydon, Tyler Dion and our Director of Golf, Bryan Nicholson, had the privilege to play with Gaby during the KPMG Pro-Am at Baltusrol The team won the competition and enjoyed a fabulous day on the course with the 29-year-old Lopez Throughout the round, Lopez fondly recalled her experiences at Sahalee in 2016, frequently saying that Sahalee is her favorite golf course in the world Growing up in Mexico City, her home Club on the north side of the metro has similar characteristics as our High Heavenly Ground “I always tell my Pro-Am partners that Sahalee is my favorite course, anywhere They can’t believe I don’t say Pebble Beach, Augusta National, Cypress Point. I can’t wait to return to Sahalee in 2024!”

Based on her enthusiasm and love of the course, Lopez will certainly be someone to watch out for on the leaderboard next season!

Turf Talk with Charlie

As we turn the page to July, summer is in full swing on the golf course(s) at Sahalee with no signs of slowing down over the coming months Our outstanding grounds staff is bustling to present great conditions each day and preparing for our many upcoming member events including invitationals, member-members, and club championships

Turf Care Reminders

During our peak summer season with members and guests enjoying Sahalee at its best, we typically host anywhere from 150 to 300 rounds on the course(s) each day. This high volume of play can strain our course(s) and turfgrasses; however, there are a few things we can all do to help preserve the best possible conditions throughout the summer season.

• Ball Mark Repair – During the course of a busy day, 3000-5000 individual holes of golf may be played by members and guests at Sahalee. Over a month that’s upwards of 100,000 total holes played. 100,000 holes played means 100,000 opportunities to hit a green leaving a pitch mark on a putting surface that’s a lot of ball marks! Please help our turf care team keep our greens smooth and blemish free by repairing any pitch marks made as well as one additional on each green. Ball marks repaired immediately heal faster and leave the putting surface smooth for the players behind us

• Divot Mix vs Divot Replacement – A common question concerning divots is whether it is best to fill with sand and seed mix or replace the turf back in the divot The answer is “it depends ” If a large/deep divot is taken and remains intact with soil and turfgrass roots, replacing the divot will result in the quickest recovery Conversely, a shallow divot without soil and roots or a divot that is scattered in many pieces is best filled with divot mix

Regardless of the method, filling or replacing each divot made promotes turfgrass recovery and reduces bad breaks and challenging lies for future players.

Cart Rules and Traffic Patterns – Policies and best practices for carts (both push and riding) are critical in preserving golf course conditions but often misunderstood. As a reminder, here are the best cart practices at Sahalee:

o Riding carts should always follow daily cart rules indicating ‘carts on paths’ or ’90 degrees rule’. When the ’90 degrees rule’ is in place, players in carts should remain on cart paths until approaching their tee shot and then exit the path taking the shortest route to the ball in play. After playing the shot, players in riding carts may continue traffic on the fairway towards the green but should return to the cart path once they have advanced their ball near the putting surface Riding carts are restricted to cart paths on all par 3’s and are not permitted off paths within 30 yards of greens and tees

o Push carts are always permitted off paths but are restricted from some areas to avoid excessive wear or damage Push carts are never to be used across greens, collars, or tees at Sahalee and are not permitted between greens and greenside hazards For instance, on 2 South, a push cart user can exit towards the path prior to reaching the pond or stay to the left of the greenside bunker, but should not navigate between the green and pond or green and bunker.

o Ropes and stakes as well as wooden ‘bollards’ are used to indicate areas where cart (both riding and push) as well as foot traffic should avoid. Whether these be areas of excessive wear, wet conditions, damage, or newly establishing turf, limiting traffic will assist in recovery and improved conditioning.

NTA Donation for Turfgrass Education and Research

Each July we ask our membership to contribute to the Northwest Turfgrass Association in order to continue the growth of our industry through improved and sustainable turfgrass management The Northwest Turfgrass Association (NTA) promotes development of turfgrass management professionals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia through university scholarships and continuing education programming Additionally, the NTA supports improvement in turfgrass management practices specific to the Pacific Northwest through university research grants at Washington State University and Oregon State University.

Thanks to the support of our membership as well as those of other PNW private clubs, in 2022 the NTA raised over $60,000 towards these important golf causes. Sahalee members’ commitment to turfgrass education and research is a testament to our love for the game and its continued growth in the future. Thank you for your support!

See you on the course, Charlie

A Note from our SWD Captain

The enthusiasm and participation with SWD continues to set records! Laura Kraft and Colin Campbell along with the entire Golf staff amaze us with their “can do” attitudes, “out of the box” thinking and working hard to stay ahead of the game with our busy event schedule.

“Spooky Spring Field Day” was a huge success with record participants playing in both the competition and the famed Horserace. As usual, the costumes were hilarious and added to the fun! Presidents Cup was held on June 27th, a one-day medal play competition. Again, we had a record participation with 31% of our members playing. The overall net winner was yours truly, with Michelle Hood winning gross.

Captains Cup players have completed their first match, with winners going into their second one We’ve almost doubled our participants from 2022 and the momentum continues to build with our newer members joining in

Next up is the Senior Club Championship, one of two major tournaments combined with the men’s division July 78. This is a tougher one to schedule since it’s at the tail end of July 4th week but sure to be a great event. We are flighted by age, not handicap and we look forward to crowning both Senior and Super Senior champions!

“Partners in Crime” Invitational is July 12-14, led by SWD Assistant Captain, Julie Reid. There are some new and clever competitions and the final night includes dinner and dancing along with awards. Similar to the Men’s Invitational, we’re inviting our spouses or significant others to the final night party.

On the heels of that, we’re looking forward to the 2-day Member/Member event on Thursday-Friday, August 3-4, which just opened for registration and ladies are signing up already! This is one of our best attended tournaments and appeals to members of all handicap levels. Grab your partner, go to SignUp Genius and get on the list!

I’m happy to report that the ladies locker room will soon have our pictures on the wall! This should help us become acquainted, especially our newer members. When you’re ready to have your picture taken, either find me at the club or text/email me and we’ll get it done. Our goal is to have every SWD member’s picture as well as ladies who aren’t SWD members

If you’re not yet a SWD member and are thinking about it, we welcome you Sue Ursino and Fatima Siddiqui cochair our Hospitality/New Member committee They’d be happy to take your phone call or sit down with you to discuss how SWD works To make it easy, just call the Pro Shop or the office to get their contact information

See you on the links!
