FRANCIS STANLEY DAS Senior Marina Assistant
How long have you been working for SAFYC?
Since 2018 I have been a part of the Club and for 5 years I have learned a lot of things that I never knew before.
What is your role in the Marina department of the Club?
Being a senior marina assistant I was hands-on on checking all the boats and carrying out routine cleaning, repairs and maintenance. I ensure that the boats in marina are properly tendered at all times.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed when the members require us to bring down the boat from the dry berth. I also cherish every moment it’s like everyday there is something different will do.
Do you have a bucket list? Can you mention a few items you have done from your list?
Yes. I managed to pilot boats. Working on the marina side gave me a chance to understand and became familiar with the boats. On the other hand, working in the sea environment, there are still some things that I want to do - something that is related on the marine activities.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I love chilling out at the beach with my friends. We usually go to East Coast Park, cycle, relax and enjoy the scenery.
Do you have personal mantra or a favorite quote you want to share?
Patience is a virtue, there is no task that we can’t overcome. We should always be happy and love what we are doing.
What’s something you want to do/explore this year that you’ve never done before?
Go to the World Cup and watch soccer games. Also I want to discover and explore more places around the world.
If you were to be given a super power of your choice, what whould it be and why?
I want to have the strength that can lift anything, it’s something like lifting beyond one’s limits to get stronger, to achieve new goals and to be satisfied.
How would you describe yourself for people who do not know a thing about you
Soft spoken. Happy go lucky. And patient at all times.
