Located in Brea, California, Safran Passenger Innovations, LLC (SPI) has designed an award-winning In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) system known as RAVE. A Reliable, Affordable, and Very Easy IFEC system for both airlines as well as passengers. Before becoming Safran Passenger Innovations, the company was first founded in 1996 as Innovative Media Solutions (IMS) where it gained success as a software consulting company. In 2005, IMS began making portable inflight entertainment units. In 2008, the concept of RAVE was created and in 2011, the first seat centric IFEC system was born. In 2012, Zodiac Aerospace acquired IMS bringing RAVE to the center of the aviation market. And, in 2018 Safran acquired Zodiac Aerospace, making Safran among the top global aerospace companies. Since then, SPI has continued to bring innovative ideas to perfect the design and software of RAVE, maximizing the passenger experience to make flying fun!
