Radon testing
To check the level of radon in the crawl space, the testing procedure is not performed in the crawl space but in the room above the crawl space using longterm or short-term testing. Simply just place a longterm or short-term kit in the room and if the levels are below 2 pCi/L then no mitigation is performed.

Seal The Ground
To reduce radon levels in a crawl space, sealing the surface/ground with a material like concrete is considered helpful. It helps in reducing the air exchange with the outside atmosphere if perfectly encapsulated. Hence, make sure to seal the cracks and holes perfectly to limit the number of entering paths for the radon gas into the crawl space.

Crawl Space
Depressurizatio
n This method of lowering radon levels is performed at the crawl space using a fan. The fan is used to remove the radon gas as soon as it forms. Hence, to lower down the air pressure inside the crawl space relative to the indoor area(rooms above and adjacent to it) this method is used but not that much effective as compared to other methods.

Crawl Space Encapsulatio
n This one is the most popular radon reduction method used in crawl spaces. In this method, a different technique is performed to limit the level of radon gas such as a thick plastic sheet(vapor barrier) is used to cover the floor of the crawl space floor(air-tight properly)and the ends of the sheet are sealed to the walls of the crawl space.
