WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORK READINESS, CAREER READINESS AND JOB READINESS? Just as a student passes matric, he or she starts thinking about his or her career. What his professional life would be? What are the steps to be followed to make a required career? What are the skills needed to be developed for the same? To answer such questions and to guide us, we commonly come across some terms like work readiness, career readiness, and job readiness. What do these terms mean? Are they different or the same? WORK READINESS Work readiness means the skills required at the workplace. There are many workplace readiness training programs that teach you the required skills and attributes. This is different from job readiness and career readinesses as work readiness are soft skills. These include the skills that an employer is looking for in you which would ultimately result in the employer being impressed and you would get extra benefits. Apart from professional skills, this makes you a good social human being also. Skills like critical thinking, punctuality, positive attitude, conflict resolution, time management, teamwork, and interacting skills can help you a lot in succeeding at your workplace.
