Nyawijining Sukma serves as ‘sanctuary‘ for citizen from the big city rapid-changing atmosphere. Located inside a forest in the middle of city, it’s giving the mood needed for mental health healing. By
using Javanese wisdom ‘the last three tembang of macapat‘, this contemplative center manifesting them on the sequence of art gallery, contemplative garden, and spiritual sanctuary.

Every sequence concept manifest in the function. ‘Pangkur‘ is the philosophy for stepping provoking some memories through arts. ‘Megatruh’ is the proccess of the soul leaving the body being so close with nature. And the last sequence of ‘Pocung‘ referred to the ritual for the focus on meditating as it’s the last ritual of their journey in Nyawijining Sukma.

Natas as entrance zone is starting ‘the life journey’ of this city park. Natas means ‘from the nature, man has born’. The entrance is including: Pedestrian, Tenant, and Plaza.
Nitis means ‘Within the nature, man has exist’. The life journey as a human is represented by the sequence with playful and resting area This sequence include sitting zone, playground, amphitheater, and toilet.
‘Fuse with nature, man has return‘ is the meaning of Netes. As the last journey, this sequence manifested it with Eco park as the most greenest space in this complex.
Natas-Nitis-Netes as a life journey reminding human that they’re need to appreciate nature as it’s always to be with us since born until the death.

This project is one of the output of MBKM KKN Tematik as I did real life public problem mapping on Anakalang, Sumba Tengah. From the one month of observation and discussions with the stakeholder, is concluded that the active churches event
and organization doesn’t match with the lack of the space for gathering and official community churches office. Sumba’s sinode office is including office, apartment (for guest), also retreat facilities.

This complex is facilitating 3 different activites: daily office, annual church province conference (using auditorium), and weekly-monthly retreat. For the retreat facilities, there are apartment, meeting room, communal dining room, and outdoor field for ‘ibadah padang‘ activities.
