A WEDDING ON HORSEBACK Jim & Sylvia – February 21, 2010 at Burnaby Horsemen’s Association
BC Sporthorse – Sportpony Breeders Group extend their best wishes to one of their members Sylvia Baur. Since Sylvia is also a member at Burnaby Horsemen’s Association, John & Ulli Dargel decided with Burnaby members, on very short notice (3 days), to help make this day a memorable one for Sylvia and Jim. The plan was that they would both enter on horseback to start their lives together witnessed by approximately 60 people. The barn perimeter area was beautifully decorated with the Canadian and BC Flag. It added colour and a special touch to their facility. It was befitting, that her two horses one of which is her show horse “All That Jazz,” were beautifully braided for this occasion. What a great entrance by the bride and groom on horseback – something Sylvia has always wished for – like a fairy tale. Debbie Rogal and Rhonda Ennis, the honour guards, were leading the
horses, Meagan as Bridesmaid and Melanie as flower girl. They created a spectacular entrance to a festive function. Sylvia and Jim were speechless and could not thank everyone enough for having come out in such great numbers and created this memorable day for them, something they will always cherish and members at Burnaby Horsemen’s Association will talk about for a long time to come.
Kelowna Gymkhana Club News By Amy Russo and Kayla Stormsten Come out and join us for a day of fun, safe, family events. New members welcome anytime, both Novice and Beginner riders. We are BC Heritage Circuit Qualifiers. The KGC AGM was held February 18th. Join us for another great season of fun, buckle series, for every age group, and hang out with horsey people. We offer a relaxing but fun atmosphere. Any horse and rider is welcome. Our events include flags, keyhole, barrels, stakes, poles, surprises and jackpots!

Dates are: May 9, June 6, June 27, July 25, August 8, August 22 and September 12. Come out and support! Tough Enough to Wear Pink will be on July 25. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Kelowna Chapter of the BC Cancer agency. Again this year we will be having a Spooktacular Fun Day in October. Dress you and your horse up in Halloween costumes! This date will be announced later in the year.
