Founded as a bicycle club along the shores of Lake Michigan in 1895, the Saddle & Cycle Club has evolved into one of Chicago’s most distinguished private clubs. THE STABLE
recreational hub, opening early summer 2026
The Stable will reimagine the former ice rink as a dynamic, year-round recreational hub designed for members of all ages. With spaces that encourage both active play and relaxed connection, this new facility is built for flexibility, creativity, and fun.
Highlights include:
- Half-court basketball for casual games and skill-building
- Full Swing simulator bays featuring golf, bowling, baseball, soccer, football, and more
- Fitness area equipped with cutting-edge equipment
- Multi-use open space for activities like pickleball, bounce house days, roller skating, and youth programming
- Creative lounge area with music, arts, and interactive gaming for all generations
Whether you're practicing your swing, joining a pickup game, or relaxing with friends and family, The Stable is poised to become a vibrant destination for recreation, wellness, and year-round enjoyment.

THE GOLF EXPERIENCE REIMAGINED

A bold transformation is coming to our Golf Course—turning three short holes into a best-inclass short-game facility designed for all ages and skill levels. This reimagined space, designed by Dave Zinkand, will elevate golf from a quiet corner to a vibrant centerpiece of Club life. Four distinct greens—each inspired by the classic contours and character of historic Chicago courses—anchor a layout that encourages creativity and variety. Highlights include a welcoming social putting green, artfully styled hazards, and endless course configurations that change with each round. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or picking up a club for the first time, this dynamic new experience invites everyone to play, connect, and grow.

An enhanced locker room experience is on the horizon, with updated storage, refreshed finishes, and thoughtful adjustments to support golf and year-round recreation.
CYCLE ROOM & PADDLE HOUSE
Future upgrades to the Cycle Room and Paddle House are being thoughtfully aligned with long-term dining and facility planning for a cohesive member experience.
WINTER CASINO
Design development is underway to reimagine the Winter Casino as a vibrant, multi-use space—enhancing seasonal activities and complementing The Stable.
