GENERAL: FOR ALL PARENTS Music Festival Join us on Saturday, 24th September (Heritage Day) for a family fun-filled festival. The line-up will include Lira, B.E.T. Award Winner – Black Coffee and Rise Academy DJs. This is your last chance to see Black Coffee live on stage in South Africa, before he begins his international tour. From the Finance Department: Please ensure that your account is up-to-date as all fees for Term 2 must be paid by 5 August, and all school fees for 2016 must be settled by 31 October. Should your child be leaving the College, written notification, addressed to the section principal, must reach us by no later than 5 September 2016.

Condolences Our condolences to Lindiwe Gaar and her family on the death of her brother Joachim, who passed away last week. Joachim was a Sacred Heart College Alumni. He joined the College in 1996 and matriculated in 2002. May his soul rest in peace.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the Lehle family on the death of Liam Lehle who died last week. Liam spent his whole school career at Sacred Heart College. He started in crèche when he was two and half years and matriculated in 2012. Rest in peace, Liam.

Our sincere condolences to Mrs Van Wyk and her family on the death of her mother. May her soul rest in peace. We ask you to keep the family in your prayers at this very difficult and sad time.

The Parents Association: Support for Three2Six The next packing of foodstuffs will take place on Tuesday, 2 August at 11:00.

PRIMARY SCHOOL Slipper Day Slipper Day is a fun initiative to raise funds for The Reach for a Dream Foundation. The money raised is used to make dreams a reality for children fighting life-threatening illnesses. We are holding our Slipper Day on Tuesday, 2 August. Please encourage your child to participate. Children can buy a R10 sticker from their teacher and wear their slippers to school on the day. The children must bring their takkies to school in a sports bag for their sporting activities.

Grade 5 Sleep Out: 2 August A reminder that the Grade 5 Sleep Out will be Tuesday, 2 August in the Macartin Centre from 20:00 until 06:00 Wednesday 3 August.

Please be reminded that 3 August is Election Day and there will be no school.

To participate there will be a donation of R100 per person and the funds raised will go to the Three2Six Education Project.

Reports Reports will only be issued at 11:00 on Friday, 5 August. Parents must please not ask teachers for reports before then.

Holidays We break up at 11:00 on Friday, 5 August, Aftercare will be available until 17:30.

PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL Library This week will be the last week of issuing books in preparation for the holidays.

Parent Interviews A reminder to book an appointment on either 1 or 2 August for a parent/teacher interview.

Break Up Day School breaks up on 5 August at 11:00. Holiday care is available; please find out details from Leah Petlele if this is something that you require.

FROM THE SPORTS DESK Inter- House Cross country Well done to all the children that participated in the Inter-House Cross country on Friday, 1 July.

Holiday Clinic The holiday clinic days have been changed due to the public holiday on Tuesday, 9 August. We are now running it on Monday the 8th and Wednesday the 10th through to Friday the 12th.
