Dear Pre-Primary and Primary School Parents

GENERAL: FOR ALL PARENTS Catholic Schools Sunday Thank you to all the Catholic learners who represented Sacred Heart College at Catholic Schools Sunday on 29 May at various parishes around Johannesburg. We were blessed to have the opportunity to deliver a message to parishioners about the value of our Catholic schools, particularly at Blessed Sacrament Parish, Malvern.

Short Week Remember that there will be no school on Thursday 16 June, a public holiday, and on Friday 17 June, a school holiday.

PRIMARY SCHOOL Farewell to Mrs O’Leary Today we had a Farewell Assembly for Mrs O’Leary, although she has only been with Sacred Heart College for 6 months, she has made a huge impact on the children she has taught. The children have enjoyed her firm but engaging manner and most importantly, the real concern she has always shown for every child’s well-being.

We wish her well as she travels back to the United States of America, to her family and friends.

Go well Mrs O’Leary, take care and thank you for your dedication and commitment. We are going to miss you, but we know that you will impact the lives of many children in the future.

Intermediate Phase Test Week: Thursday 23 June to Thursday 30 June This is a very busy part of the term as assessments are being conducted and reports prepared. We request that parents help down-play the tension sometimes associated with the term tests.

The test schedules per grade will be available on the communicator.

Children in the Intermediate Phase will be allowed to leave school at 14:00 during test week to study. There will be normal co-curricular activities for the children that are still at school after 14:15.

PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL Concert We held a wonderful concert on Friday. There was a great response from parents and the hall was almost filled to capacity. Once again, thank you to all who were involved in making this the success it was. Keep an eye out for photographs on our Facebook page.

Condolences Our sincere condolences go to Mthandazo Dube and his family on the death of his grandfather last week.

HEALTH AND SAFETY Medical information Thank you to everyone who filled in and returned the medical information forms. We still have half of them outstanding so please try to return them as soon as possible. Sister Peta-Anne needs the information in order to manage any emergencies or illnesses at school. If you did not receive a form it means that we have all your information already.
