75 YEARS the lead of taking Sacred Heart Celebrates 75 Years with Historic Fundraising Year
The SHA community supported this momentous anniversary year with increased generosity and support. The newly named Legacy Fund, reached a record high of $1.7 Million in gifts. Two significant gifts highlighted the enthusiasm and support for SHA’s continued success.
Victoria Hall Gmelich ’87 and her husband Justin made a transformational $1 Million commitment to support young women who seek a Sacred Heart education, but require some financial assistance to make it possible.
As the founder of the Trinity Hall School, an independent Catholic all-girls school in New Jersey, Victoria is keenly aware of the unique dimensions that are required to make Catholic school accessible while still managing the necessary finances.
“I am really conscious of families like mine when I attended SHA. My parents made real sacrifices to prioritize Catholic education. I want to give back and make sure that SHA is still accessible for families.” The Gmelichs are
It's Been a Year to Remember

Dear SHA Family,
As Sacred Heart Academy concludes its 75th anniversary year and I conclude my tenure as president, I want to thank each of you for your fierce belief in the mission of all-girls Catholic education and the Sisters of St Joseph. Your support positions SHA for continued excellence, and I can’t think of any place that deserves that more!
I have great confidence that the leadership and commitment of President Kim Johnson will bring forward all the right next things for SHA. I look forward to being a part of it!
Your support has a direct impact on our students, but also on our world. Every gift to Sacred Heart Academy enables our students to have
very clear that this is an additive opportunity meant to supplement the already generous financial offerings provided by SHA to students. The Gmelich Award will be offered for the first time to the incoming Class of 2030.
Stephanie Grana ’87 gave the inspiring commencement address in late May and generously donated a scholarship to cover the tuition for an incoming 9th grade student in the Class of 2030.

The Call to Lead is Here

a message from president kim johnson
It is a profound honor to begin my service as President of Sacred Heart Academy, a community distinguished by its Catholic mission, academic excellence, and unwavering commitment to forming young women of faith and service. I am deeply mindful of the trust placed in me, and I embrace this responsibility with great humility and hope.
As we look to the future, we do so with confidence that SHA will continue to thrive as a place where girls are challenged to achieve their fullest potential and where the Gospel values that guide us remain at the heart of all we do. Our mission calls us not only to prepare young women for success in college and career, but also to inspire them to lead lives of purpose, leadership, and service to the world.
Building upon our remarkable 75-year legacy cultivated by the Sisters of St. Joseph, we will continue to strengthen our academic programs, deepen our Catholic identity, and expand opportunities for innovation and growth.
Together—with the partnership of our outstanding faculty, families, and alumnae—we will ensure that Sacred Heart remains a beacon of excellence for generations to come.
May this new chapter in SHA history be marked by bold vision, enduring faith, and a shared commitment to shaping a future filled with promise.
Lead With Heart,

Celebrating The Class of 2025
The Class of 2025 created an inspiring legacy at Sacred Heart Academy. This talented class of 178 young women is off to 85 outstanding colleges and universities across the country. They earned prestigious academic and athletic recognition with over $50M in college scholarship.
Most importantly, they are faith-filled SHA sisters who embraced the mission of Sacred Heart Academy and led with heart. SHA will miss you and always be here for you, Class of 2025. Continue to Lead with Heart.
Class Valedictorians Charlotte Formont, Boston College and Beatrice Gonzalez Porteiles, Molly University inspired their classmates and all in attendance with their encouraging words and heartfelt recollections of their time at SHA. Hailey Peter, Cornell University also shared her words of wisdom to her classmates as they prepare for their next educational journey. These three young women represent the highest academic achievements of the Class of 2025 and their contributions to Sacred Heart Academy are recognized and celebrated.
Sacred Heart Academy sincerely thanks our commencement speaker, Stephanie Grana ’87, for her generous scholarship for a future SHA student announced on graduation day. The generosity of Stephanie and her family represent the lifelong commitment of our Alumnae to heartfelt giving.
Congratulations! You are ready, the world is waiting!

"Your foundation is strong! Your values, attitude, integrity, character, and education are things that no one can take from you. Sacred Heart Academy has given you an excellent foundation, just as it gave me back in 1987, preparing me for college, law school, and everything beyond. I would not be the daughter, lawyer, wife, mother, or woman I am without my years here."
—Stephanie Grana JD ’87, Commencement Speaker

"As Dr. Minoque will appreciate, Jane Austen reminds us that "it isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do". DO great things and always, always, Lead with Heart"
Charlotte Farmont, Co-Valedictorian Boston College
"Whether you end up leading a corporation, spearheading a court case, teaching a classroom, creating art, raising a family, conducting research or forging your own unique path, we encourage you to find your strength in your SHA roots and to share them with the world"
Beatrice Gonzalez Porteiles, Co-Valedictorian Molloy University

"Here at Sacred Heart, we didn't just receive an education —we became part of something bigger than ourselves as we walked with faith, building our relationship with God, and building a community that looks a lot like family."
