My name is Saba Modaresi. I graduated from Humber College in the Bachelor of Interior Design co-op program in 2024. I have always been interested in history, especially the architecture and design aspects of it. I draw inspiration from everyday life in my designs. I grew up seeing design and decorating projects happening around me as it was a passion for my parents. Therefore, I chose to pursue Interior Design as a career.
I can use softwares like Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Twinmotion and other apps like Sketchbook and Picsart and can also create hand sketches. I also have great skills in space planning, and developing conceptualized ideas. I believe I am a creative person with a unique vision.
My name is Saba Modaresi. I am from Iran and I speak 3 languages (Kurdish, Persian, English). I am a graduate student from the bachelor of Interior Design program in Humber College. This project is a cottage located in Georgian Bay. The clients were a young retired couple who would sometimes have friends or their adult child come over and stay with them. This couple wanted lots of wood material and large windows as they loved nature and wanted to incorporate that into their cottage. I used lots of natural elements like woods and stones and placed large widnows and a akylight to incorprate as much natural light as I could. The couple also enjoyed outdoor activities like water sports, riding boats and jet skis. They also enjoy indoor activities like playing pool in colder seasons.

his project, my client was the luxury brand Burberry.
berry was founded in 1856 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and by Thomas Burberry. In Burberry’s signature
ern, which is called the Nova Check, we can see lines ing an intersection. Based on this pattern, I choose the d "Intersection" for my concept. In my concept, I wanted line in the pattern to represent a different factor of
t Burberry is known for. One is quality and comfort, one sthetic and chicness, another is hard-work and the last one is continuity. These lines intersect in one main point which is the point where Burberry is at today. These lines together lead to what Burberry stands for today and will continue to its future.
The inspiration for this design, as mentioned before, was the Nova Check pattern as you can see in the image to the right. The pattern inspired the space planing and it also incorprates the design intent. The Points of Intersection, which play an important role in this design can be seen in the floor plan.
In Burberry’s original logo, we can see a horse rider carrying a shield. This shield symbolizes protection and the equestrian represents grandeur, pride, purity, and bravery. However, Burberry has a secondary logo in which the logo has the letters T and B in it. These letters are the initials of the founder of Burberry, also known as Thomas Burberry. This logo celebrates the heritage of Burberry, their history and represents the spirit of their founder. The reason why I chose to modify their secondary logo and create a new one inspired by it was because it represents their history and where they started and how they got here which corresponds with my Design Concept. The colors I used in my logo are also colors from the original Burberry color palette.
a was the brand I chose for this project. Takazawa is by chef Yoshiaki Takazawa. His culinary work
ates a "delicious and fun" world that reconstructs dernizes Japan's good climate, people, ingredients, titional world. The concept for Takazawa's upscale estaurant was "Vibrancy" and the livelihood of the ty and it's Enthusiasm & Energy. Tokyo, it is known ll of vibrancy, livelihood, nocturnality, bustling & ness. This concept is inspired by spirituality and life at the streets of Tokyo at night, as well as how Tokyo is known as the city that never sleeps. As night falls, the people of Tokyo head for dinner and drinks at the colorful streets of Tokyo, after a long day at work.

For this project, which was located in the LRC of Humber college, my concept was based on the ocean and the beach. I wanted my space to feel like the beach and make the clients feel the freshness and relaxation in the air. I wanted them to think of water, sand, vacation, relaxation and freshness when they first walked in the clinic. People always have a built in stress and get scared when they walk into a dentist clinic. Based on research, going to the beach and being near water increases mindfulness and lowers stress. Generally being in nature makes humans feel safer and can lower their blood pressure and stress hormone levels.

For this project my client was Dave. He was an American nature photographer in his early 30s. In our groups of 3, we each had to come up with a customized millwork piece, create it and make technical drawings for it. Our concept was "Contrast" which was inspired by Dave's passion and photography style. The mobile house also had to be able to provide a space for him to work and live in but these two areas still had to be distinguishable. The contrast and borders would be in colours and material choices. We had to make sure the contrast between the workspace and living space shows which was a little difficult due to the small size of the space. Another way we decided to incorporate contrast intoour design was to use the different volumes and heights with the loft.

The concept of “Land Inhabits Us” was inspired by the Shipibo-Konibo people and their history, culture, and powerful symbolism of the precedent circular designs found in the Maya Kené. Our design allowed the land to inhabit it, by incorporating the nature’s connection to the site and showcasing it through the spaces within the Pavilion. The connectivity between the surrounding nature and the building allowed for the structure to seamlessly blend into the environment making it look like it has always been there.
Rivers hold ancestor memories to the Shipibo-Konibo people as they were a way of traveling, connecting them to others. This idea of the river made an impression on the building as it featured curves in the structure.
As seen in the diagrams, the Pavilion is designed to accommodate multiple arrangements for different occasions

By researching the culture of Palestine, I was able to learn more about the art of Tatreez, which I took inspiration from for my concept and my parti diagram. Such as how Tatreez is known to become a symbol of women's resistance, identity and heritage in Palestine thorughout their history. An important space unique to the Islamic culture is the need for a multi-faith room and an ablution room. The client for this pproject was Toukan Soap Factory. I discovered that the Toukan Soap Factory is a company that has been around since the 1910 and the that the building is significant to the heritage of Palestine, as the Toukan Soap Factory is one of the few existing soap factories in Palestine.
For this project, I did research on designing for the blind. I was able to dive deeper into innovative design solutions that can enhance their experience in a space. The importance of designing for the blind is to be able to enhance their sense of touch, smell, and sound. Such as having a variety of materiality to help them differentiate spaces. For smell, the space can insoporate plants and greenary into the office to enhance wayfinding. For sound, the acoustical control should be managed properly thorugh materiality and space separation so that outside noise would not disturb their experience within the space.

This Thesis project focuses on the development of a Technology Integrated Immersive Library. The goal for this project was to enhance the reader's experience and senses in a library settings through the application of interactive technology. Being an enthusiastic reader, I deeply value the transformative influence of books and the immersive worlds they present. My personal enthusiasm for reading motivated my thesis topic. I wanted to break the boundaries of traditional library environments, offering readers an unparalleled journey into the captivating realms of literature and enhancing their reading experience.
The power of literature takes us to extraordinary realms, connecting us to something profound, beyond the physical limitations of our body and the world around us. Reading is more than just interpreting words on a page; It's about creating a vivid mental picture and immersing oneself in the story's setting.

Transcendence ref p g y phy associated with a feeling of connection to something greater than ourselves. It also refers to the state of being beyond the limitations of our current existence through a transformation of consciousness. It is a concept that inspires wonder and curiosity, and encourages us to explore the unknown depths of our own existence.
The proposed immersive library environment will enable readers to dive deeper into the enchanting worlds crafted by their favorite literary authors. The technology serves as a catalyst, enhancing the atmospheric elements of the narrative, without interfering with the reader's imagination.
METHODOLOGY - 1
“Something hard to understand or explain. 2. : Inscrutable or mysterious.” noun.
When reading a book, individuals initially perceive vague images of characters and settings. However, as they delve deeper into the narrative, these images become more vivid, and the story becomes more complex. This phenomenon is represented in this model, where the center is colorful, and the outer layers are blank. This highlights how readers tend to focus on the general story rather than the minute details while reading.
METHODOLOGY - 2
“The process or result of joining two or more things together to form a single entity.” adj.
In literature, the yarn symbolizes consciousness, while poles represent crucial plot points in a story. As the reader progresses through the story, they encounter each of these significant points, eventually coming to a conclusion at the story's center.
These projects were done during my internship from May to July of 2023. As an intern designer for ARPA Architects, I gained a lot of experience through the mentorship they provided for me. I learned the values of the company, joined client meetings, went on site visits, drew as-built plans, researched and gathered materials, and created digital 3D renders. This internship was a very valuable experience for me.
