About: The modular approach to the stations' design is complemented by variations in color, which signify the four cities while remaining symbolic of the HHR system. The terminal station of Medina and Makkah are characterized by a rich color palette: Madinah Station's vivid green color draws inspiration from the Mosque of the Prophet. a futuristic blue and silver, representative of its role as a modern new city. Drawing on Islamic architecture, the design concept takes the traditional gateway arch form as the basis for its roof design. The design, common to all stations, features a sequence of 25-metre high arches rising from the concourse, complemented by smaller 9-metre

Site plan: The building site took a rectangular shape and it looks similar to the courts of the two mosques showing below Mosque of Ibn Tulun and Alhakim bi'amr allah Mosque. But in my opinion it took this shape for more functional reasons because it is a rail-way station And in one of the most visit countries by muslims.

Faรงade (Arches) : In the faรงade the designer used the Fatimid arch which was inspired from the Fatimid architecture mosque and the most famous are : Mosque of Ibn Tulun and Alhakim bi'amr allah Mosque in Cairo, Egypt. Drawing on Islamic architecture, the design concept takes the traditional gateway arch form as the basis for its roof design. In my opinion the designer succeed to reflect the fatimid architecture in the arches.

Faรงade (Patterns) : In the faรงade the designer used the Islamic geometric patterns in the wall and the vivid green roof, the pattern looks similar to the tiles in the Great Mosque of Kairouan, Tunisia. In my opinion the designer succeed to reflect the Islamic geometric patterns in a simple modern way.

Faรงade (Color) : In the faรงade the designer used the vivid green in the roof, The color draws inspiration from the Mosque of the Prophet and silver, representative of its role as a modern new city. . In my opinion the concept of the connection is great but the result did not came as expected because the color did not look the same, but the color define the city station.

Chandelier: The chandelier is the main lighting element in the rail-way station and the chandelier was inspired from the Islamic chandelier, and one of the most elegant and beautiful in the world is Mosque of Mohammed Ali as shown below. In the chandelier the designer made a geometic design and took the geometric pattern to an 3D form.

Roof: The vivid greed roof have a small opening to provide natural lighting and it looks similar to the old windows in the domes or in the upper side of the walls, the designer succeeded in reflecting the same feeling of the Stained Glass in the Old mosques in a modern way possible, in the example shown below Mustafa Pasha Mosque and it shows the roof and how they used the stained glass in the upper side of the building.

Corridor: The Entrance of the station is a 27m roofed corridor from the plaza in front of the station to the station doors, this technique used in Alhakim bi'amr allah Mosque, The size of the corridor is huge according to the similar corridors in the mosques but maybe it designed that huge because of the huge number of people expected to be entering the station in the same time.

The Mosque In the minaret of the small mosque Minaret:

next to the station we can see clearly the similarity between the minaret and the Ottoman minarets in the Suleymaniye mosque ( Pencil minarets ) The minaret cap also took the same color as the station roof.

Conclusion : The Designer kind of succeeded to reflect the Islamic architecture character in this building in many ways and in many elements, but maybe it fails at some points because the building I more functional and the function is more important then trying to reflect historic architecture, Although he succeeded to give the people a building that anyone can define it as a muslims building.
