What's Your Why? BY RYAN

PERTILE

In this issue I would like to share my own personal short story or better known as my WHY. Over the past several years I have discovered that this single word is as important as the air we breathe. Without direction you get lost, right? With out knowing your why you too are lost. This is what happened to me while working in corporate America for 10 years. I became content and felt lost at times. As a child and young adult I was always driven, whether it was in athletics or academics. So when I felt stuck and content I didn’t know what to really do or how to shake it. I started to wonder about the ‘what if’s’ and ponder about my why and purpose. It was then that I knew a change had to be made and soon. Fast-forward, I came to realize that I should follow my heart and passions with my next career venture or I would regret it. Sure, it wasn’t going to be easy and it was going to take a ton of sacrifice, but how else do you realize what it is you are meant to do unless you take a risk! So I did. I took a huge leap of faith with out any certainty and decided I was going to help provide people with a better way to buy and sell real estate. From a very young age I always had a strong passion for architecture and real estate with the ultimate goal in providing an unforgettable experience. Now was my time to execute. Upon making this decision I look back at my very first real estate experience and it was everything but unforgettable. In fact, I would rather forget that purchasing experience all together. That experience made me realize there had to be a better way to service people who have real estate needs, wants and goals without just being another number or commission to the brokerage or agent. Current day, the unmistakable presence of Engel & Völ kers Minneapolis has, and continues to, change the status quo on how real estate is being conducted. We pride ourselves on raising the bar so that our clients receive a luxurious level of service regardless the price point. To close, I have to give a lot of credit for my accomplishments to my incredible wife Lisa. She is my daily motivation and without her support I know none of this would have ever been possible. The time and sacrifice away from my family in which my clients deserve is extra motivation to provide them with ultimate service and an unmistakable real estate experience. I love what I do and I hope my story can inspire you to find your WHY!

Autumn Market Update

The supply of homes is still incredibly low while demand is high. This brings a slightly uneven market where home prices are rising and days on market continue to trend downward. New Listings are down 3% Closed Sales are up 1.9% Days on Market are down 17.6% Average Sales Price are up 6.6% Percentage of Original Price equals 99% Inventory of Homes are down 15.7%

Why the Fall is a great time to SELL or even Buy Home values have increased 6.6% throughout the Twin Cities. Those of you looking to buy or sell in the near future, the fall might actually be your most optimal time. Why? Sellers - get to benefit from less competition and typically home prices are more sustainable because you are not having to directly compete with your neighbors or lower your price as aggressively if at all to compete with their aggressive pricing. Plus, there is still plenty of pent up buyer demand that if your home is presented at it's best and priced appropriately it will sell regardless if there is snow on the ground or not. Buyers - can typically find some great deals on homes that have not yet sold during the summer and have been sitting on the market for more than 30 days. Plus interest rates are still at historic lows which make purchasing much more attractive today. And if you are fortunate enough to find that great deal now you will be able to celebrate the holidays in your brand new home and who doesn't like a great holiday party! So whether you are a buyer looking to purchase or a seller considering your options the fall is one of the best times to pursue your real estate needs. Worked with Ryan for about 6 months before we finally found the right house for us. It was a long process but Ryan worked with us every step of the way, understanding what exactly we were looking for and the style we wanted while in no way trying to pressure us into something we were on the fence about. We looked at 30 houses before we put our first offer in on a house but of course it couldn't be that easy. I think we looked at feels like 100 total houses and thanks to Ryan utilizing all the tools at his disposal, found a great house before it was even on the market, saw it that evening and had it closed that night.
