2021 MSW Fall Registration: How to Register

Page 1

When selecting courses for the Spring 2022, MSW students are encouraged to view options available on their home campus AND New Brunswick. All synchronous (fully-online) AND synchronous remote classes are hosted through NB campus but allow Camden and Newark students to enroll.

Students are encouraged to read section notes whenever selecting a course. Ex. This note signifies that class ends 20 minutes before the registration time listed below.

If registering for a course in Newark or Camden, the campus will always show. If registering in New Brunswick, the campus will only appear for in-person courses.

The most definitive way to tell if a class is hosted in-person is to see if it has a room number. No matter the campus, if a course includes a room number, it will be taught in-person.

To identify a synchronous remote course, there will be a day and time listed, signifying that the course will be taught at a specific time.

For campus, synchronous remote courses in New Brunswick will include “Online”. For Newark and Camden classes, the campus will appear, but there will be no room number.

Synchronous remote classes on all campuses will not include a room number. When there is no room number displayed, it is the best indication that the course will either be synchronous or asynchronous remote.

Asynchronous course options will not list a specific day/time for course instruction and will not include a room for where the course is held. If the asynchronous course is being taught through New Brunswick, the campus will display “Online”. If the course is being taught through Camden or Newark, the campus will be listed.

Identifying a course type on Course Schedule Planner (CSP), compared to the University Schedule of Classes is the same, however, section notes and additional information appear below the section listing instead of above.

This section can be identified as face-to-face (in-person) because it includes: - A meeting day and time - A campus location - A room number

This section can be identified as synchronous because it includes: - A meeting day and time - Lists a campus (Camden, Newark, Online), but does not include a meeting room The section notes also indicate that this course is offered in a synchronous remote format.

This section can be identified as asynchronous (fully-online) because it includes: - Note of asynchronous content; does not include a meeting day or time - Lists a campus (Camden, Newark, Online), but does not include a meeting room The section notes also indicate that this course is offered online.
