Ana Dugulele
Born in New Zealand and living between Australia and Fiji, Evan has spent more than two decades with Rustic. With a degree in business and a commitment to Fijian communities, Evan proudly manages our South Pacific operations. When not at the Eco-Lodge Base, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa and their young boys and races in long-distance running events.
Ana has been a key member of our Fiji team for more than ten years. She oversees our operations throughout the country with her exceptional local knowledge and an amazing ability to juggle many tasks. She has been an asset in creating a genuine, local experience for our students. When not working, you can find Ana spending time with her husband and four children.
Bethany Thomas
Aimee Gunn
Bethany has been on team Fiji since 2011 and shares her passion for the island culture with our students. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she took a gap year and spent time living in Tokyo and London before attending The George Washington University. Bethany can frequently be spotted challenging the locals to a pickup soccer game on the Eco-Lodge field.
Aimee’s passion for the outdoors led her to the University of Florida where she studied natural resource conservation. Before joining the Fiji team in 2012, Aimee gained extensive experience working with young adults in a variety of different environments in the U.S., Canada, and Central America. A native of Florida, she also leads programs in New Zealand and Australia.
Cassie Wright
Rajnesh ‘Raju’ Ram
From outside Melbourne, Australia, Cassie has extensive experience managing community service programs in Fiji. After receiving bachelor and postgraduate degrees in Sports Management, Exercise Science, and Community Development, Cassie is now a full time resident of Fiji. Cassie uses her love of the islands to ensure our year-round operations run smoothly.
Born in the Momi Bay area, Raju oversees transportation logistics and manages our Eco-Lodge farm. He is a key role in our service initiatives and was elected by the community to serve as Provincial Councilor. Raju enjoys soccer matches and teaching our students about Indian elements of Fijian culture. He spends time with his wife and daughters on their farm.
Shalini Narayan
Setareki ‘Seta’ Monovou
Born and raised steps away from our Eco-Lodge Base, Shalini oversees our general operations of the EcoLodge. She welcomes every visitor with a warm and open heart, sharing cups of chai tea and lots of motherly love, while taking on a multitude of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of this base. Shalini also leads our Home Cooked Meals service initiative.
Setareki, known as “Seta,” manages our Somosomo Islands Base. Born and raised in Somosomo, he is an expert on the history and traditions of the village. He and his beautiful wife Tavaita have three children Setoki, Lasarusa, and Marica. He welcomes staff and students at the base and treats everyone as part of his family. This is Seta’s first year working with Rustic Pathways.
Waisale ‘Whise’ Naivaluavou
Jowave Nauluwavu
Known as ‘Whise’ in Somosomo, Waisale is a vital personality that keeps the day positive and ensures programs run smoothly at the Islands Base. He has a little boy and girl that always bring a smile to Rustic Pathways students. He is affectionately considered “the manta ray whisperer,” is able to pull in a big fish on command, and spikes the final point in an afternoon volleyball game.
Jowave has worked with us for many years and brings great care and humor to our programs. Born and raised in Momi, a neighboring village, his community input and respect opens wonderful doors for our students. Jowave has led several of our high school and Gap Year programs. When not overseeing Eco-Lodge programs, Jowave can be found spending time with his children.
Panapasa ‘Oro’ Orodai
Savenaca ‘Save’ Rodan
Oro is from the rural village of Wauosi in the interior of Fiji near our Highlands Base and studied at Nadi College. Oro’s great sense of adventure, natural athletic ability, and extensive knowledge of the cultures and geography of Fiji make him a strong leader. When asked how he is doing, Oro always responds, “110 percent.” His energy and excitement are vital to our Fiji programs.
Save came to Rustic Pathways from the capital city of Suva. His extensive background in tourism and adventure sports has been a great asset to our Big Fiji Explorer, Escape to Fiji, and Pacific Adrenaline programs. Save is also an exceptional carpenter and jack-of-alltrades and can frequently be found building bicycles at our Eco-Lodge Base House.
Yoshneel Chand
Luarna Greentree
Yoshneel hails from the Sigatoka area of the main island and brings youthful energy to the accounting department. A graduate of University of Fiji with a degree in Business, Yoshneel left traditional accounting behind for the Rustic lifestyle. You can spot Yoshneel and his signature Aviator sunglasses at the Eco-Lodge where he is an active member of our Momi community.
A native of Australia and avid traveler, Luarna has lived in Canada, New Zealand, and Mammoth Lakes, California. Since starting with Rustic Pathways in 2015, Luarna has led programs in all of our South Pacific destinations, including our South Pacific Service and Ocean Skills Gap Year semesters. In her off time, she explores her passions for photography, snowboarding, and surfing.
