Russian Art Week is a bi-annual event which takes place in June and November. The major auction houses of Bonhams, Christie’s, MacDougall’s and Sotheby’s all join together to present a series of Russian sales in London. Several Russian exhibitions and related cultural events also take place.

Since the very beginning of the Modern Movement, in the early years of the 20th century, Russia has been famous for the creativity of its female artists. The exhibition at Murray Edwards College’s New Hall Art Collection, curated by Sergei Reviakin and Edward LucieSmith will feature work by artists living in Russia itself, in Britain, and in Western Europe. Following its display in Cambridge the exhibition will transfer to the Albemarle Gallery in London during January 2014.
