County government of Baringo in collaboration with the German government and the German business community has signed an agreement that will see the county make great strides towards empowering its residents.

Among the key areas agreed on include; equipping TVETs to the German levels, roll out of a student Exchange Programme with technical institutions in Gersthofen in Augusburg and Bavaria region at large as a means to facilitate the importation of German skills while offering job opportunities for skilled and qualified workforce.

Speaking during the signing of agreement in a president Ruto led working tour of Germany, Governor Benjamin Cheboi who was part of the delegate expressed confidence that the ties would be of great benefits to the people of Baringo.

“As a matter of principle, we agreed to build Social and Economic ties with the Bavarian Government through collaboration with VBW (Association of the Bavarian Economy) and State Parliament of Bavaria”, said governor Cheboi.

Other key areas agreed on during the tour are; strengthening ties with German Chamber of Commerce, adapting modern Early Childhood institutions, modelled along the ones in Augsburg in addition to possible exchange programmes with middle schools and borrowing their expertise and assistance in the creation of Modern Research and Innovation Parks.
