210 youth benefit from one year contract paid internship program

The interns a product of a rigorous, competitive and fair process spearheaded by the Public Service Management department, through the County Public Service Board which received 11,060 applicants, will serve for 1 year and shall receive a monthly stipend.

Finance and Economic Planning department took the lion share of the interns taking 76 while Agriculture and water took 48 and 19 respectively while others shared the other slots equitably.

Speaking while presiding over the ceremony and issuance of appointment letters to successful candidates, the Governor urged the interns to use the rare opportunity to acquire key skills through practical job experience to launch their career paths to success.

The County Boss also promised to expand the program budget in partnership with the County Assembly so that the next cohort will cater for more graduates.

The Governor was flanked by the County Assembly speaker Dr.Pactrick Mutai,his Cabinet and a host of Members of the County Assembly.
