Live theatre, dance, music, and children’s shows in unique and intimate settings across
North Yorkshire and East Cleveland. Established 1996
Rural Arts ON Tour is North Yorkshire and East Cleveland’s programme of professional live performances in community venues. Volunteers from across the county work with us to bring high quality, affordable and exciting live events to your doorstep. Why should you miss out on theatre, music, comedy and children’s shows just because you live in a rural place? Here is a handy guide to what’s on.
Northanger Abbey
Fresh from recording their second album ‘The Other Nine-to-Five’ in Los Angeles and performing in Hollywood venues including The Roosevelt Hotel, these four very talented musicians mix an hour and a half of originals with folk standards and stripped-back solos. A true ‘folk and roll’ band who have previously warmed stages for the likes of Guillemotts, Ellen & The Escapades, Ocean Colour Scene, Mama Rosin, and Holy Moly & The Crackers.
Austen like you’ve never seen her before. This five-star production, fresh from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, brings the magic of the Gothic novel to your doorstep this Autumn. We follow the young, naïve and unlikely heroine Catherine Morland through her introduction to society in this heart-warming, laugh-out-loud love story, featuring just two actors… and seven puppets! Starring Game of Thrones actress Antonia Christophers.
