Thank you for joining us tonight for a celebration of courage, resilience, and unwavering hope. This evening, we honor the extraordinary children and families battling pediatric cancer, our brave young warriors whose strength and spirit inspire us every single day For sixteen years, we have been moved by their light, and we know their magic will touch your heart just as deeply as it has touched ours.

What began as a dream in 2010 has grown into a powerful movement of hope, healing, and support for families facing unimaginable challenges Together, we have built a community united by love and a shared purpose: to stand hand in hand with children fighting pediatric cancer and the families who walk beside them.

As we mark the beginning of our sixteenth year and gather for our 14th Annual Spring Soirée, we reflect with immense pride and gratitude on how far we ’ ve come Runway to Hope has been recognized as Central Florida’s Best Charity Event over a dozen times and has become the region’s largest philanthropic gala. We were also the first charity in Central Florida to raise over $1 million at a single event made possible by your generosity and unwavering support.

We are also deeply honored to be recognized by the City of Orlando, Orange County, Osceola County, and Seminole County for the impact of Runway to Hope across our seven-county Central Florida community, with an official proclamation declaring September 10th “Runway to Hope Day.” It is a meaningful reminder that this mission extends far beyond one evening. It lives in the heart of our entire community. That spirit of community and commitment is reflected in the growth we ’ ve seen over the years From 30 children walking the runway in 2010 to more than 140 in 2024 and even through a two-year pause during the global pandemic, our Runway to Hope community has remained strong. But the fight is far from over.

The National Cancer Institute allocates only 4% of its research budget to pediatric cancer Our children deserve more, and that is why private support is not just important, it is essential. Until the day no child ever has to hear the words, “ you have cancer, ” we will continue this mission with urgency, purpose, and love.

Runway to Hope initially pledged and fulfilled $1 million to each of Central Florida’s three major children’s hospitals Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, AdventHealth for Children, and Nemours Children’s Health totaling $3 million We then renewed those commitments with an additional $1.3 million, bringing our completed hospital grants to $4 3 million Last year, our journey of giving continued with a $1 5 million pledge dedicated to uplifting local hospitals and the countless lives they touch, bringing our total impact to an ext x raordinary $5.8 million for children’s healthcare in Central Florida.

Just as vital is our Family Assistance Program now known as our Family Wellness Program. Since its creation, we have provided more than $1.5 million in direct aid to families navigating the unthinkable. Through our Family Wellness Program, we help cover essential needs like rent and mortgage payments, car payments, utilities, gas, and groceries, ensuring families can focus on what matters most: their child’s care. We also provide access to mental and physical wellness resources, academic support, and meaningful community experiences that bring moments of light during incredibly heavy times. And when families face the unimaginable, we are there then too, with compassion, dignity, and support when it is needed most Because behind every number is a child A parent. A family fighting to stay afloat in the wake of a devastating diagnosis.

And still, there are moments that remind us just how much more needs to be done. Those moments are what drive us They are why we show up every single day, to change the narrative and to fight for a future where no child ever has to face this disease.

Creating Runway to Hope has been one of the most meaningful journeys of our lives. It has shaped not only our work, but our family Our daughters, Valentina and Alessandra, have grown alongside this mission, embodying the belief that to whom much is given, much is expected We are deeply proud of the legacy we are building together, and with all of you.

The Central Florida Pediatric Cancer Coalition (The CFPCC) was launched by Runway to Hope in September of 2024 to unify local pediatric cancer organizations and amplify community impact

This coalition fosters collaboration, resource-sharing, and strategic initiatives to benefit children and families battling cancer. The newly built website includes links and access to all the participating organization’s resources so that Central Florida families can go to one place to find all the information they need.
