DISCOVER, CREATE, AND SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT

Introducing Mathew Ihaka

Kia ora koutou, ko Mathew Ihaka tōku ingoa.

I have been working at Te Rūnanga o Ngā Wairiki Ngāti Apa in the Kia Puawai space for just over a year. I never thought I would see myself as a mentor for rangatahi, but I have truly loved the journey so far.

I grew up in Marton and, from lived experience, I know there hasn’t always been a lot available for our rangatahi here. Because of this, it really boosts my wairua knowing that I’m able to give some guidance back to our young people.

I have three tamariki of my own, so I’m very used to young, energy-filled humans. Over time, I’ve found a real passion for helping guide and support our younger generation.

Introducing Nikitta Jones (Whaea Kitta)

Kia ora koutou, ko Nikitta Jones tōku ingoa. I am a 37-year-old single mama to my beautiful 16-year-old son, Cordel Court, as well as two fur babies. I am passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition, and I strongly believe that the way we take care of ourselves shapes us both mentally and physically. I love gardening, camping, bush walks, and anything to do with nature — it has so much power to refresh and inspire us. My background includes managing cafés, bars, and restaurants, as well as working in shearing sheds and calf rearing. I grew up in a big whānau in Hunterville, which taught me the importance of love, connection, and support. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and your beautiful tamariki. Ngā mihi nui — Whaea Kitta is ready to support and guide our beautiful rangatahi on their next journey.
