PRIORITY 1: CONNECTED CURRICULUM FOR STUDENT SUCCESS 1.1 Literacy and Communication Develop a Literacy and Communication Improvement Plan. Employ a Speech Pathologist to support assessment date reflection and whole school direction. Create a Literacy committee to consider the assessment date and depth of differentiation needed to support student success. Develop evidence-based programs to improve literacy and communication outcomes. Identify, develop and embed a Literacy 4 blocks approach for students in Years 79/10.
1.2 Numeracy Develop a Numeracy Improvement Plan. Develop partnership with Multiplicative Thinking Program developers to identify and challenge our capable students. Develop and embed evidence play-based programs to improve engagement and student success. Create a Numeracy committee to consider the assessment data and depth of differentiation needed to support student success.
1.3 Career Pathways Create and embed simulated workplace program to support work readiness in Year 9/10. Café and food workplace Workshop Enterprise Recycling Work Skills Program Develop a lower school Career Curriculum Program to support success for all students. Outsource further opportunities to maximize person centred approach to career pathways. Engage with local TAFE, School Based Traineeship opportunities and open/supported employment organisations. Improve and engage student capacity to complete Preliminary English and Maths, OLNA entry and success. Develop a whole school careers curriculum day.
1.4 STEM Identify and develop a STEM/PBL program in a Year 7-10. Embrace the Engineering process for all problem-solving discussions (Ask, Research, Create, Review, Adapt). Create enrichment opportunities across the school to challenge student's capacity. Identify links with Bushrangers modules.
