Principals Report: DATES TO

Dear Parents / Care Givers

REMEMBER

NAIDOC Assembly Staff and students participated in amazing celebration of Aboriginal culture at our recent NAIDOC Assembly. Our AIEO Mr Boundry and Mrs Honey organized an amazing showcase of Aboriginal culture by our Aboriginal students. The students performed dances and songs in traditional costume, showcasing their confidence and culture. Fantastic celebration, well done! Dianella Diamonds Wow—what an amazing way to end our term. Throughout the term students have been trying out for our annual talent show. Mrs Davey had the unenviable job of selecting the students who would go through to our Grand Final, well done to all of our students who tried out and congratulations to all of our Grand Finalists. It was a very difficult task for our judges to choose just one winner from each group. Congratulations to Andy, junior winner, Sohaila, intermediate winner and Nikola who was our senior winner. All of our students did an amazing job performing and are to be congratulated on their courage and persistence. A huge thank you to Mrs Davey for all of her hard work coordinating the event, it was SPECTACULAR! See photos on page 2. Second Semester Deputy Head Boy & Girl In second semester we elect a second deputy head boy and head girl to support our leadership team. The election gives students who may not have had the confidence or English language skills in Semester 1 to nominate to experience being part of the student leadership team for the remainder of the year. Well done to all of those students who nominated and particularly those student from our IEC program. Congratulations to Makdese and Kevin who were elected by their peers. Aussie of the Month Congratulations to our Aussie of the Month for July, Yasa. Yasa was nominated by Ms Vince for her considerate nature of helping out her peers. Well done on your consistent display of Harmony Yasa. School Holidays I would like to wish all of our students and families a safe and happy holiday. Hopefully we see some sunshine and we can get outdoors. Look forward to seeing all students back on Tuesday 23 July. Anthony Middleton PRINCIPAL
