Dear Parents / Care Givers Interschool Wow—what a fantastic result for Dianella Primary College at the recent interschool carnival. Under expert coaching from Ms Farmer, our school won both the junior and senior carnivals. Our students represented the school fantastically with some amazing team and individual results. Special mention to Ashlyn who won the intermediate girls championship, Maleke who won the junior boys and Eli and Dah Blut who were both runner up junior champion boy and girl. Well done to all of our competitors, your team work and individual efforts were outstanding! Assembly Well done to our students from room 14 who hosted this weeks assembly . The students showed off their exciting dance skills and we were all very impressed with their acrobatic skills. Thankfully no one fell off the stage with their energetic moves. School Funding Recently all schools in WA were provided with additional funds to upgrade school facilities. Dianella Primary College was lucky enough to receive $250,000 towards upgrading our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for the school to address some outstanding maintenance issues and will enable us to provide a safer learning and work environment. Over Term 4 we will be working closely with the School Board and the P&C to see how we can best use these funds for the benefit of our students. NAIDOC Celebration On Monday we joined DSC and DSCESC to celebrate and acknowledge NAIDOC week. This was a great opportunity for students to participate in different cultural activities and to hear from some local Aboriginal leaders from the community. With the support of Mr Boundry, our students then presented their own NAIDOC assembly, where our Aboriginal students showcased songs and dances from their culture. Mr Boundry’s work promoting Aboriginal culture across the school has been amazing, and the confidence and pride on display from our students at the assembly is a direct reflection of his positive influence. Holidays It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of Term 3. It seems like the year has flown by. I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday and I look forward to seeing all of our families back at school on Monday 14 October.
