s well as having obtained these other incredible green credentials: a 0% VOCs certificate, the Food Contact Compliance declaration, the Eurofins Gold Label and the M1 Emission Class for Building Materials, Oil Plus 2C has recently gained the GreenGuard Gold certificate This label shows that our product is safe for the environment and human health You'll now find it on our packaging!

We are joined by Jan, our Strategy Director of R&D in Belgium Products have achieved GreenGuard Certification are scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous, third-party chemical emissions standards This helps to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure, while aiding in the creation of healthier indoor environments
‘Being eco conscious has been a Rubio Monocoat core value from the very beginning,’ and this accreditation helps to continue the environmentally friendly path we are working towards
Jan continues that before this certification, Rubio Monocoat already had the 0% VOCs label and was the first in the wood oil industry to achieve the Eurofins Gold Label too
As well as being safe for indoor environments, the GREENGUARD GOLD certification also makes Oil Plus 2C suitable for highly regulated spaces like schools and healthcare certificates
We are innovators, and always strive to be at the forefront of technological innovation We will continue to guarantee our commitment to an ecological way of wood finishing The new GREENGUARD GOLD formula has also reduced viscosity and improved spread rate, meaning application is now smoother and the oil is even easier to apply - for both manual and industrial applications The lower consumption we consider as an additional advantage
Finally Jan notes that the product is now even more stable during transport and extreme weather conditions, so no matter where you are, you will always have top quality oil

The Exterior Room is inside and resides to the right of our showroom
It features samples of our Hybrid Wood Protector and WoodCream, so customers can see what the colours look like
The Green Room was one of our favourite rooms to design and bring to life It's a space for meetings, working and enjoying the neon green light shining from the plant wall
With a beautiful cork board from PureTree Cork, an incredible table from The Oak Guys and mood lighting, the Green Room really is a place to relax
Our showroom is the perfect place to show off everything our products can achieve Now, our partners can book out the space for training their customers

Last year, we got to gather all our ambassadors in one place - our Nuneaton showroom for an epic charity build off! Here are some of the snaps from the day, sponsored by Surrey Timbers! The teams had a day and a half to build something from scratch, and finish it with Oil Plus 2C Each team member had to bring a different skill!

With the help of our fantastic partners we have worked tirelessly to promote the Rubio Monocoat brand with a big smile and have met some unbelievably skilled people along the way - too many to mention!! With 2022 being a year of transition for the brand somewhat, we move on to 2023, I think 2023 will be a great year for us making more and more strides with our partners nationwide to bring the best finishing product on the market to more and more people I see more and more need for our aftercare range in certain markets, so again this will be another focus area for me in Ireland
Richard and I spent a couple of days in Scotland just before Christmas visiting both existing Rubio users and potential new resale partners I then revisited ‘Caledonia’ in the new year to do some in depth product training with a couple of high end manufacturers, covering everything from preparation to pretreatments, oiling and aftercare I will be in the area again in February so please get in touch should you require a one to one or group demonstration of our wonderfully unique wood finishing range
2023 is here and I am really excited to get out there and start seeing as many of you as possible

How long have you been partnered with Rubio Monocoat?
We were one of the original distributors of Rubio Monocoat as we first started our talks in 2005/2006 and worked together for a number of years. With help from Daniel (George’s son) we continued that great work together in 2016 and have been involved with distribution ever since

What made you first get involved with Rubio Monocoat?
We met George who partnered with us at the W6 Trade show in 2006, which really was the launch of the Rubio Monocoat & SCF Hardware relationship During the show George was demonstrating to a usually packed-out crowd and gained a lot of interest. Over the years we’ve always distributed Rubio Monocoat but it was when Daniel came to visit in 2016 and demoed Rubio that we were able to really expand with the range and since then we’ve been growing year on year.

We get asked plenty of questions regarding Rubio Monocoat as it offers many additional features compared to other traditional finishes. The questions we get asked the most are, Can I mix colours? Is it really one coat? Is it food safe? And is it easy to maintain? All to which the answer is yes

Meet our favourite project made in early 2022 by Sam Wilmott (@monkeyboysworkshop); it’s the white oak curved sideboard Amassing a lot of views on an Instagram Reel (we're talking 11.9 million, and that's just on one video!), this piece really does take centre stage - we have some serious living room envy for their customer right now!
The skill it takes to bend wood, the creation of such a beautiful design and the fact that it's been made with such passion and craftsmanship makes this our project of the quarter
