Werner will be entering his three-year strategic plan as RTSA President which the organization will now 'mine' from what we build on the past two years. We have already seen growth in the organization since the start of implementing his strategic plan. Good luck Mr. Incoming Prez!

From the Editor Igor Scheurkogel

Member of: Sandown 150 since 2017 to date. Carletonville 50 Family: Vicky Grobler Luna Grober (2) I am looking forward to working with all the exceptional gentleman that has raised their hands to serve Round Table Southern Africa. The time goes by incredibly fast, make the most of it and enjoy every second.

I thought it good to bring out an additional Inkundla to introduce the incoming leadership on national and area level so that we can add some faces to names. Because so many times we hear about tablers doing great things or if it is your first ARTSA or area conference and you feel a bit out of place, so the hope is that it will help with fellowship between areas especially those areas that tablers on the norm would no interact other than through ARTSA. Also to introduce the two contested portfolios, International Relations Officer (IRO) and Public Relations Officer (PRO) & Inkundla

Editor. This will allow tablers to put a face to the ballot, because so many of us are sometimes friends on Facebook due to mutual or we saw the person has a rondel on their profile picture and we just automatically press accept. I believe that RTSA incoming leadership will continue to build on what was build 95 years ago

IRO Candidate:

Louis Du Toit I am Louis du Toit married to Coleen du Toit, we have 2 daughters Eloise 3 and Christin 1 month old. We live on a farm in a small town called Fouriesburg in the Eastern Free State. Started tabling in 2010 and was inducted to RT Ficksburg on 3 March 2011 the Current Free State Area Chairman for 2021/22. Why stand for a position as big as RTSA IRO (International Relations Officer)? A thought that never crossed my mind until ARTSA 2019 in Langebaan when I saw Paul Dippenaar and Wynand Haasbroek compete against each other for the position. Listening to speeches I sat there looking at these two and thought, will it ever be possible for a Joe Tabler like me, from a little town in the Eastern Freestate called Ficksburg be possible to ever stand for a position like that. Since then, I thought about it every now and again, then came ARTSCO 2021 and I saw Gerhard van der Berg and Ryan Baisley competing against each other for the position again listening to their speeches and again the same thoughts going through my mind. After a lot of thought and listening I never heard one anyone saying anything about what they are going to do for me as Joe Tabler. You hear a lot about what RTI wants us to do or how they want us table internationally.

But my feeling is no IRO ever tells RTI what Joe Tabler wants. I decided then that it does not help telling people in the positions that I as you Tabler vote them into “I think you should do it this way or that way”, I can also stick my hand up and stand for the position. And here I am putting my hand up for the position as RTSA IRO. I can bore you with all the detail of what I have achieved in my Table career, what portfolios I have held and what awards I have won etc. The IRO position should not be about person who holds it, but about Joe Tabler, the IRO are mere the spokesperson, the strong voice of what RTSA and Joe Tabler wants said. I want to stand up for RTSA at RTI, I want to stand up for Joe Tabler at RTI and tell them what the Joe Tabler “The Little Guy from the Small Town and Table “wants to see happen in RTI and RTSA. Yes, the World Meetings is nice, and the numbers meetings are good, the Traveling is a bonus, but have the IRO ever gone to an Area Chairman or Table Chairman and asked, “What do you as Tabler or table want? Do all your tables have active twinning arrangements? Is there any way I can assist you in getting in contact with a table abroad and help set up that Agreement? How has Covid 19 affected the twinning arrangement you currently have? What are the hurdles you have faced in the past trying to setup such an agreement? What is the plan we should put in place if this pandemic is going to continue to disrupt the current agreements in place and setting up of new ones? The answer to all the above can be summed up in on single phrase. “WHAT DOES JOE TABLER WANT ME TO DO”

IRO Candidate:

Gerhard van den Berg My Name is Gerhard van der berg AKA Ginger Ninja I’m current RTSA IRO this year. Im here today to talk to you guys about my 2 nd IRO campaign Year

I am the IRO “The Joe Tabler” that is going to fight for what RTSA and Joe Tabler wants RTI to do for them, not for what RTI wants RTSA and Joe Tabler to do for them. I got a little nearly 3-year-old girl Eloise and she would always do a little dance moving her little arms and sing when me and her has got something similar, be it a same color shirt or ice-cream “Look Daddy Same Same, Same Same”. Now if you decide to vote for me as RTSA IRO and you see me standing I want you Joe Tabler to also do that dans and say “Look there! Same Same, Same Same he is a Joe Tabler just like me” I am the IRO (Joe Tabler) that is going to fight for you “The Joe Tabler”

I was introduced to Round Table by Etienne du Plessis (dupie) Sheppie 83, Johnny Pitstop Shepie 83 and Kobus Klopper kameeldoring 92 through an online game Clash of clans. They kept on talking about Round Table, 1 day I asked what is this Round Table, Dupie immediately jumped to the occasion and invited me to his house in Margate to explain to me, I still hesitated as I don’t know this guy from a bar of soap, maybe he was a serial killer, you never know. We decided to go and explore this Round Table and since the day Dupie explained to me what Round Table I are never looked back. Was inducted at Round Table Florida 21 Gauteng in 2014 and had the time of my life since. In 2017 I revived Krugersdorp 48, when I revived Krugersdorp my international trips started, and I have had till today no regret and love it each day to travel to meet my local and international Brothers.

Natal South Coast Area Chairman: Tian Malherbe

The Natal South Coast Area is the smallest of the 3 areas in KwaZulu Natal. With Kokstad 35 unfortunately having to close the area now consists of 6 Tables. From Margate 46 and Port Shepstone 83 on the lower South Coast to Amanzimtoti 85, Westvile 189 and Kloof 190 in Durban. Sani 152 is located in Underberg. I call Margate my home and I’m a proud Margate 46 member. 2022 will be my sixth year in Table. Last year I felt that it was time to step up to the plate and put my hat in the ring for Area ViceChairman. My fondest Table memories include being part of the inaugural Oppi Kus musiekfees committee and it turning to be a million Rand turnover project. Round Table has become such big part of me and my family’s life that hardly a day passes without it being mentioned in our home. I am husband and on 16 February I became a father of 2 boys (we already have laaitie). If you’re ever in Margate give me a shout, I always enjoy a beer with a fellow tabler.

Namibia Area Vice Chairman Candidate: Virtus Maximus

It’s been a while since we have had three strong leaders run concurrently for the position of Namibia Area Vice Chairman. It’s simply fantastic to see that there is healthy competition in our area. It is a clear indicator that we as members of this organisation are enjoying it to the fullest and are united in our calling of serving our community. With the upcoming election in mind an interview with Windhoek 34’s candidate, Werner, was in order to provide the tablers the opportunity as to why he wishes to take on this eminent portfolio.

MK: Why have you availed yourself for nomination? WW: The reason for me wanting to run for Vice Chairman of Namibia Area is quite simple. I feel that I have the ability to serve our organisation and further it’s aims and objectives. I also have the experience in table to do this well. MK: What do you hope to achieve in the event that you are elected? WW: I have a good deal of time left before the dreaded 40-year mark before tabling retirement. Thus, I believe becoming Namibian Area Chair in 2023, in addition to my statement to the first question, would give me an opportunity to achieve my future goals of hopefully joining the RTSA council in the future with the aim of running for association president as one of few Namibians to have held that prestigious title. Namibia deserves to be represented on the Association council again. MK: What differentiates you from the other candidates who are also in the running for the Vice Chairman portfolio? WW: Round table is ‘The school of life’ as one of our 41ers so elegantly put it. It has had a large impact on my life and opened many doors for me. I have travelled through Europe as a tabler based in Germany. I have visited the Seychelles AGM in 2015 as well as made a host of great lifelong friends. And above all it has given me a sense of making an #impactfulchange in our community. My drive to continue and even further what we have achieved is unmistakably present. MK: What are your future plans for our association? WW: I would like to see the 5-year plan in RTSA being carried out with Namibia Area doing what it does best, namely running excellent projects and proving what we can achieve so much with our relatively small number of members, big hearts and amazing tablers in Namibia. Maintaining the unity in our area will be vital to ensure our goals are met and exceeded. I will endeavour to motivate our members and push growth and excellence in our area. I believe that Namibia has much to offer and sincerely hope that we will be able to charter a new table in the years ahead, this will be my mission. MK: You are presently only 30 years of age. How would you persuade the eligible voters that this is a positive? WW: I see my young age a positive as everything I learn and do will be staying in the association for the next 10 years to come and I believe great progress only comes from sticking something through for the long run. This is something I have learnt through my business that I started in high school and has been running for 15 years. Furthermore, I also already have more experience at

Round Table than most current members in our area with the urge to look well after the legacy that has been achieved in Namibia. MK: How will you be able to handle the portfolio and attend important meetings, including those in South Africa, raids and handovers? WW: Being a business owner gives me the freedom to take time off at my leisure to deal with table matters as they arise. I am very fortunate to have this privilege at my disposal. MK: What do you want to say in closing? WW:I love Round Table, our aims and objectives and the difference we make. Adopt Adapt Improve!

South Cape Chairman: Wentzel Stewart This year I will be a proud Tabler for 10 years. I was introduced to Table in 2011 and inducted in 2012 in Round Table Port Shepstone 83. In 2013 we relocated to George, were I transferred to George 30.

Table Portfolios held: Clubhouse Treasurer (3 three years) Bar & social Secretary Vice Chairman (twice) Chairman (twice) Area Portfolios held: Constitutional adviser (twice) Treasurer Vice Chairman (twice) Area Chairman My lovely wife Desre Stewart and two kids Ewald (10Y) and Chanté (7Y), enjoy Table as much as I do.

STNOFS Area Chairman: Russel Human My name is Russel Human and I like long walks next to Klerksdorp dam… I was inducted as a Tabler in Rustenburg 54 in 2014 at the age of 23 by then President elect Spidey at a very cold and wet Vanderbijl at a winter conference, where I started raiding clubhouse regalia immediately…my nick name in STNOFS is Russel the love Muscle for some or other reason. Went to Germany AGM where I was almost asked to leave after doing the Nazi salute, but al in al great fun. I was the chairman of Rustenburg 54 for 4 years and has had all portfolios…I was the only member left… I’m currently a member of Klerksdorp 45 since relocating. Im a proud member of STNOFS and a proud member of Klerksdorp 45. The change I would like to bring into my area is less presentations from ASSCO.

My beautiful and loving wife Natasja is a teacher at a local private school and is even more passionate about table. I have been a dedicated tabler since 2012 with numerous portfolios on the area council over the years. We are looking forward to an exciting and wonderful year. Hoping that I can give back to Table as much as table has given to me.

Western Province Area Chairman:

Timothy Manners-Wood

I grew up in Klerksdorp where my parents were Tablers of Matlosana. We spent a lot of time at table events ( mostly under the clubhouses tables on mattresses sleeping while I parents partied up a storm) and attended a few area weekends. I finished off my schooling in 2004 after matriculating from THS Klerksdorp after which I went to technical college and did my trade test. I moved to Bloemfontein in 2007 to further my studies at CUT (Central university of Technology) (Free State Technikon). I completed my studies in 2011 and moved to Cape Town where I met my wife, Heather. Heathers father was also a tabler (Peninsula 77). Heather is just as passionate about table as I am also having grown up in the organisation. I joined Durbanville 165 as a guest in 2015 and was inducted as a member the same year. I served various portfolios in the club including secretary, clubhouse convenor, vice chairman and served as chairman in 2018. In 2019 I transferred to Cape Town 9 where I served as vice chairman and Chairman in 2021. I have also served on the Western Province Area Council for 3 years – treasurer (2019), treasurer (2020) and vice chairman (2021). I thoroughly enjoy meeting new, interesting people and enjoy a good gin and tonic or Olofberg and Coke Zero.
