We Are the Church: Christianity is more than a Sunday Service
Dr. Mark E. Whitlock, Pastor
We are teaching about sharing the good news of God in Jesus Christ. Christians are to go into all the world every day to share the good news of God in Jesus, Christ, but often we fail to go to even our own next- door neighbors, friends, and family. Inviting others to church is one way we can fulfill our responsibility to obey Jesus and introduce Him to a lost world.
Do you know anyone suJering?
A neighbor who is complaining about how much stress they must bear ?
A single mom who is being crushed under the weight of trying to make ends meet?
A co -worker who is unhappy at work and at home?
A friend who is su:ering with an addiction to alcohol, drugs, sex, or negativity?
A young adult family member who is going in the wrong direction with the wrong crowd?
Or how about that friend who does go to church, but has not experienced freedom from sin?
The bible says in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Christians are responsible for teaching the Word of God and bringing people to be baptized, but our job does not end with the initial decision to follow Christ. We must not miss the importance of teaching people to obey Jesus’ commandments. Please join me at Bible study on Wednesdays to learn about the fifty commandments Jesus gave to the world.
