CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF BUSINESS

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF BUSINESS
It has been an honor to serve as your Roseville Area Chamber CEO since October 2021. Together, we’ve achieved tremendous milestones and elevated the Chamber’s work to new heights. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a talented and passionate team, a dedicated board, and committed members like you.
Over the past few years, we’ve made meaningful progress, including:
• Successfully completing the Chamber’s 5-star re-accreditation.
• Launching impactful programs such as our industry-specific roundtables and the business bootcamp.
• Securing funding and launching the Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) initiative, which strengthened partnerships with our community colleges to align training with business needs.
• Building out a robust Public Policy platform with a new Advocacy Newsletter, Action Alerts, a legislative tracking system, and the revitalization of the UCAN coalition.
• Increasing revenue and the profitability of our signature events.
Most recently, I’m thrilled to share that the Chamber secured a $497,000 grant to expand our TPM Manufacturing Initiative in partnership with the Rancho Cordova Chamber—another powerful step toward building a stronger regional workforce pipeline.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to share that I have accepted the position of Vice President of Small Business Advocacy at CalChamber. This new role offers the opportunity to expand the impact of our work here in Roseville to chambers and businesses across California. I was honored to be recruited for this position, which I see as a testament to the strength of our Chamber and the collective work we’ve done together.
To ensure a seamless transition, the Board of Directors has appointed Amy Triplet as Interim CEO. Amy currently serves as our Director of Finance and HR and has been a vital member of the Chamber team for many years. Her deep knowledge of Chamber operations, steady leadership, and commitment to our mission will be key to a smooth and successful transition. I have full confidence in her ability to guide the organization during this time.
During this transition period, I’ve offered to assist the Board and Amy as needed on a limited basis to support the team, continue advancing the TPM work, and ensure the momentum we’ve built carries forward.
Thank you for your partnership, trust, and support throughout my time as CEO. It has been a privilege to serve you, and I am so proud of all that we’ve accomplished together. I look forward to staying connected and cheering on the Chamber’s continued success.
Rana Ghadban CEO, Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce
Operating a business in California presents unique challenges that entrepreneurs and business owners have to navigate. California's higher labor costs, exceeding the national average, impact businesses relying heavily on manpower. The state's intricate laws, from minimum wage requirements to stringent overtime rules, create overwhelming challenges for employers. Balancing a compliant and fair workplace while managing the intricacies of California's labor laws remains a constant challenge.
Despite state restrictions, we are fortunate here in Placer to have very robust, involved Chambers in all of our cities. They work diligently to advocate for business-friendly policies at the state level, while also supporting our local businesses in tangible ways on a daily basis.
I believe we as a local government can and should foster a supportive business environment through collaboration between our jurisdictions, community organizations, and businesses themselves. I also support streamlining bureaucratic processes and reducing regulatory burdens where possible. Simplifying permitting procedures, licensing, and compliance requirements can significantly ease the administrative load on businesses.
I also very much support collaboration between local educational institutions and businesses. We are so fortunate to have higher education institutions here like Sierra College and William Jessup University, who develop specialized training programs and/or apprenticeships that align with the needs of local industries to help create a skilled workforce. This synergy not only addresses skill gaps but also ensures that businesses have access to a pool of qualified talent, enhancing their competitiveness.
While it’s clear there are many challenges with running a business, I would like to offer a word of encouragement to our business owners: THANK YOU for doing business in Placer County! We appreciate the dedication, sacrifice, and hard work you put into your day-to-day operations, and know that you are the pillars of our community. If my office can ever be of assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out: 530-889-4010.
-Shanti Landon, Placer County Supervisor, District 2

The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announce that they have jointly been awarded a grant from We Prosper Together for the Greater Sacramento TPM Manufacturing Collaborative: Digital Tools Initiative.
As the first Chambers in the region to implement Talent Pipeline Management (TPM)—an employer-led framework developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation—their efforts focus on strengthening workforce development in critical industries. While our region's manufacturing ranks ninth as an industry, it is an underserved sector requiring immediate attention.
The Chambers launched the Greater Sacramento TPM Manufacturing Collaborative to address workforce shortages in manufacturing across Sacramento and Placer counties. The Digital Tools Initiative will explore and evaluate digital software tools to enhance workforce accessibility, strengthen employer engagement, and better align education and training with industry needs.
The Initiative's key focus is supporting the region's veteran community, recognizing their unique challenges in re-entering the workforce. Over 100,000 veterans live in Sacramento and Placer counties, and manufacturing has emerged as a key industry for veteran employment due to highly transferable skills.
"The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be at the forefront of talent pipeline management and economic growth," said Rana Ghadban, CEO of the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce. "Thanks to We Prosper Together, this grant will help us drive sustainable manufacturing workforce solutions to benefit the region's employers, job seekers, and training providers. We look forward to collaborating with our partners to build a more inclusive and resilient regional economy."
This grant is part of We Prosper Together's $5 million investment in 11 transformative initiatives across the Capital Region to advance economic resilience and create high-quality jobs. Spanning a diversity of sectors—including biotech, clean energy, food and agriculture, and precision manufacturing—these projects are poised to strengthen key industries, foster innovation, and expand economic opportunities for residents across all eight counties. A second $4 million round of funding is anticipated to release this year to further advance these regional goals.
"We're creating a pipeline of transformative projects that address our region's economic challenges, leverage promising industry sectors, and create equitable economic growth," said Evan Schmidt, CEO of Valley Vision. "This funding is just the beginning. We're excited to continue supporting high-impact projects to help residents earn a living wage and build a more secure future for themselves and their families."
For over 50 years, Placer SPCA has worked diligently to fulfill its mission—to enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond. Every day, animals that are homeless or hurting find a place of healing and care, where staff and volunteers strive to place them in their loving forever homes.
In 2024, Placer SPCA broke ground on a new facility—a Veterinary and Foster Care Center—that will expand its services to the community. The existing veterinary care facility was created in 2007 by repurposing office space into exam, surgery, and recovery rooms. The increasing demand for medical care has presented challenges due to the facility’s layout, lack of space, and age.
This new 8,800-square-foot building, located next to the Adoption and Education Center on Tahoe Avenue in Roseville, will enhance the work of Placer SPCA’s skilled veterinary team. It will provide the highest standard of care in a space designed to improve surgical effectiveness and shorten recovery times. A wellness center, to include accessible and affordable spay/neuter services, will be open to the public.
This building will cost $12.5 million. PSPCA has raised $12 million toward its goal of opening the facility debt-free in early 2026.

Supporting our region’s young professionals is investing in our community leaders of tomorrow. Every Ignite Young Professionals event I attend I am inspired as I think how the next CEO’s, industry leaders, and perhaps even elected officials of our community are all right here engaged with Ignite! And there’s no better way to support our region’s young professionals then to attend one of Ignite’s great events and programs coming up.
First, you won’t want to miss The Bash on Thursday, May 1 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on the Roseville Town Square. The Bash is Ignite’s biggest party of the year and brings together community and business leaders to raise awareness and celebrate the young professionals in South Placer. This allinclusive event features local restaurants, breweries, and wineries for a fun all-you-can-eat, drink, and dance night!
Plus, our next Ignite Offsite is a tour of the Placer County Coroner’s Office on Friday, July 11. Completed in 2021, this new facility includes state-of-the-art technologies and a dedicated family meeting room to ensure a comforting experience, such an important asset to our local law enforcement community.
I hope to see you at an Ignite event soon, maybe you’ll get inspired too!

For the past ten years, Fourscore Coffee House has been more than just a coffee shop—it has been a cornerstone of Old Town Roseville. At the heart of it all is Luke Noland, whose passion for coffee and people has shaped Fourscore into a beloved local institution. As the shop celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we interviewed Luke to reflect on the journey.
What inspired you to start Fourscore Coffee?
"I had been working in coffee for seven years and always treated the businesses I worked for with the same care I would treat my own home, family, and friends. When my friends Jesse, Ryan, Steve, and James invited me to see their new office in Old Town Roseville, I was inspired by the charm and history of the area. I spent several days and late nights, walking the streets of that area and taking in the vibe. I prayed a lot, observed the people, and made a rough plan! We opened February 21st, 2015."
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in the beginning, and how did you overcome them?
" When you start a business alone, or with a small group, your personality IS the business. When you see your weaknesses amplified into a larger expression to the entire public, your negative habits and personality traits can frustrate you much more than when you were the only person looking into the mirror! I was thankful to have a great partner in Jesse, who balanced me out and never attacked my weak areas, but rather filled in the void and supported my growth. By the time he had to leave the business for personal reasons, I had spent more time on personal development and also surrounded our business with people like Jesse who could give Fourscore the positive input required where I wasn't as proficient."
How has Fourscore evolved over the past decade, and what are some key moments that stand out to you?
"We are very much the same as the day we opened. Our focus is still on pursuing the hearts of our community, rather than cold hard profit. We suck at making profit! However, we have evolved into being better stewards of our people, resources, and influence in the community and I'm grateful for that. Where we have changed is in our presentation, and our increase of offering more great products, such as our amazing food menu that we added in 2024. Another key moment for me was bringing my first daughter, Mollie, into the coffee shop for the first time. She was born in December of 2020 and we had just survived one of the worst years for businesses in the history of America. As I gently rocked her newborn frame in my arms, I told her, "This is your coffee shop". She still likes to remind me that Fourscore is HER coffee shop when we order a warm milk and cookie for her each week! My wife Katie and I now have four beautiful children and we are excited to pass on this business to them someday."
How has Fourscore contributed to the local community?
"Our biggest contribution has been our presence. We came into a suffering area of Central Roseville and along with our friends at Old Town Pizza, we injected some life into the daytime business atmosphere. Now, you will find people down here from 6am onwards. We have also tried to partner with the majority of local charities and schools that have come to us for donations, support, free coffee for events, and by hosting them as well. Lastly, there have been countless milestone events held here over the years by various groups. Weddings, wakes, proposals, break-ups, reunions, first interviews, political campaigns, fundraisers, birthdays, and baby showers have all taken place on more than one occasion, and we are HONORED. It is really amazing that so many memories are surrounded by Fourscore Coffee."
- Luke Noland, Owner, Fourscore Coffee House
