• Those who “hunger and thirst for justice” (Matt 5:6) are consumed with the desire to see God’s will done—in themselves and among humanity at large.

• The “merciful” (v. 7) are “those whose hearts are pure” (v. 8). They are “those who work for peace,” (v. 9) reflecting God’s character of mercy, purity, and peace.
