A Message from the Interim Director
I am excited to share a few Library updates. First among them is that by the time you are reading this, a new Director of RRPL will likely have been named. The next Director will be the 8th Director in the 95-year history of the Library, succeeding Jamie Mason who began as Director in 2014 and navigated the Library through becoming a member of CLEVNET, major restroom renovations, and a pandemic.
Additionally, the Library has acquired a set of raised garden beds for use in all-age programming. These beds were constructed for the Library as part of an Eagle Scout Project overseen by Luke Naymik.
Finally, the Rocky River Public Library Foundation will be hosting an Art Show & Soirée at the Library on Friday, October 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Tickets are available at www.rockyriverlibraryartshow.org.
See you at the Library, Trent Ross, Interim Director
Board of Trustees News
Stacey Ganor has been appointed by the Rocky River Board of Education to a 7-year term on the Rocky River Public Library Board of Trustees. With a Bachelor of Science in International Studies from the Ohio State University and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University, Ms. Ganor has a wealth of experience in working on behalf of individuals and their families to navigate difficult situations and plan for the future.
Through a lifetime of use, Ms. Ganor has developed a deep appreciation for the role libraries play in supporting an individual’s education and also creating a shared space welcoming the community to gather together. A former trustee of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association and current Advisory Board Member of Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio, Ms. Ganor brings a wonderful range of previous experience to this new position. Ms. Ganor and her family are longtime residents of Rocky River, with their twin sons graduating from Rocky River High School.
Ms. Ganor is succeeding Audra Bednarski, who has volunteered her time as a Library trustee for the past 14 years. Ms. Bednarski served as President and Vice President of the Board of Trustees for two separate terms, was an appointee to the Rocky River Public Library Foundation, and helped to successfully guide the Library through the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Library sincerely thanks Ms. Bednarski for her years of dedicated service and looks forward to working with Ms. Ganor.
