Editor's Note
November was a wonderful month for the student body and Key Club. Members went out to volunteer for many charitable events as the holidays near. I am so proud of all of our Key Clubbers who donated their time to do things for others all over our town. I'm excited to see what is in store for our potential to reach other's hearts for the rest of our year. This month, we also had our Thanksgiving break, allowing students to rest and bond with family over food. Being able to participate in sharing the holiday cheer seems like a priority throughout all of our members.
I hope this giving attitude doesn't waiver, and I'm excited to see how it translates to December. I also want to remind everyone to take care of themselves, especially as finals come up! Keep being amazing! -Isabel Alonso

Spare Parts Center for Creative Reuse
Spare Parts is a local nonprofit organization here in San Antonio that accepts pre-owned art supplies and other creative materials, and offers them back out into the community, fulfilling their mission to serve and protect the environment. They offer a wide spread of craft supplies from birthday decorations and cards, to yarn, paint, and even vintage records and cds, all for reasonable prices that people of any status are able to afford! Using their profits from the sales made, they travel around to schools and libraries throughout the city, educating and encouraging young teens and students to reduce waste production throughout their local neighborhoods by reuse and other sustainable practices!
A major highlight with them was volunteering at the annual Spare Parts Mega Sale, held at the beginning of this year. Our members helped to move in almost 5,000 pounds of accepted donations from donors all around the community! We had spent that morning unloading materials such as fabric and a really cool record player from cars, and sorted them into piles that would later be transferred into the shelves of the store. This event was truly memorable for a ton of students, for we were able to see how much support comes from our local community, with almost 100 adults willing to give back even some of their own artwork! With the items being so affordable for all, a couple of our members at the end of the sale even decided to purchase some pieces as well to support them! Spare Parts events have been a great time to bond with not only our own Key Club members, but with the Spare Parts employees as well!
Our most recent event was held a couple weeks back, on a friday night. We were able to organize the shelves, looking for items without a price tag, looking through the bins of collected donations, and also helped to paint rocks for the holidays that would then be sold to daily customers! The director and shopkeepers Miss Mary and Miss Martha are always such a great joy to be around, and create a warm and welcoming environment within the store for everyone, going all out to express their gratitude for everything! Our members have found events with Spare Parts full of joy, and we can't wait to help them out and encourage similar activities within Reagan!
