The Regulatory Conference was held for the first time at the Kalahari Resorts and Conventions and was a great success. Hosted by the RRC, the event aimed to educate and train oil and gas, as well as pipeline operators and other industry representatives on the applicable laws, rules, and procedures for hydrocarbon production in Texas.
The CID team, led by Mysti, played a big role in the event’s success. Mysti coordinated the decorations with support from CID team members, and their efforts were widely appreciated for adding a welcoming touch to the venue.
CID also hosted an informational booth to assist operators with questions, including those related to the Map Portal. Joseph Stasulli conducted a live demonstration of the Map Portal, helping operators better understand how to navigate and utilize the system. In addition, Joseph and Jeffrey Levens delivered a presentation on attestations, covering the required information for submissions and explaining the importance of attestations.
Overall, the conference served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen communication between the RRC and industry professionals.
Starting in early July, CID inspectors began summer weatherization inspections of critical natural gas facilities to ensure there is ample gas supply to protect Texans in preparation for extreme weather.
As of August 8th, 565/1030 extreme heat inspections have been completed, including 147 priority 1 inspections.
Weatherization inspections will continue through the end of September.

During a recent lunch break, some team members took a short walk to the Blanton Museum of Art for a refreshing change of pace from their usual routine. Located on the University of Texas at Austin campus, the museum offers free admission on Tuesdays, an ideal opportunity for a cultural midday outing.
The team members explored the museum’s wide-ranging collection, which includes European paintings, Latin American art, and contemporary works. They spent time in several galleries, enjoying both the permanent collection and the current rotating exhibitions.
The visit provided not only a break from the workday but also a chance to recharge creatively With new installations rotating throughout the year, the Blanton remains an engaging space, perfect for brief yet valuable visits during the workweek.
It's summer which means we want nothing more than to get some sun in our eyes and to have lovely sun kissed skin. Sun flowering during your afternoon office slump may be helpful for concentration and staying alert, but being exposed for too long can cause sun damage. Sun damage doesn't just cause skin aging and wrinkles, it can also cause melanoma and nonmelanoma cancers and can damage your eyes. Recent studies show that blistering sunburns during childhood dramatically increase the risk of developing melanoma later in life. Here are a few tips on how to avoid sun damage. Wear sunscreen when you will be exposed to the sun. Wear sunglasses to prevent sun damage to your eyes. Wear long loose sleeves to avoid the sun's damaging rays. Keep it cool in the shade during the day's peak sun exposure hours. Be aware and protect yourself.
The Deer Park FFA recently hosted a successful jackpot livestock show, drawing a crowd of enthusiastic exhibitors from surrounding FFA and 4-H chapters. These types of shows, often called "jackpot shows," are a fantastic opportunity for young exhibitors to practice showing their animals and fine-tune their skills before major events like county fairs and state shows. They're an important stepping stone in the show circuit, offering a competitive but friendly environment for students to gain valuable experience.
The event featured a wide range of livestock projects, including cattle, goats, pigs, and lambs. Competitors showcased their hard work, demonstrating the dedication and care they've invested in their animals. The day was filled with impressive displays of showmanship and high-quality live stock.
A standout moment came when Ashly, daughter of Darrell Ferguson, lead inspector of the CID East Region, was awarded Grand Champion Market Lamb. Her victory is a testament to her hard work and dedication. Ashly's win at the Deer Park FFA show is an exciting start to what promises to be a busy and successful show season.
The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is back, and it’s living up to it’s name. This cycling event held every August in Wichita Falls, TX, brings together thousands of cyclist from around the world to peddle distances up to 100 miles, all under the Texas blazing sun.
But this event isn't just about endurance. It’s about community, support, and showing up for one another. This year one of our team members, Will Wright, inspector from the CID North Region, will be volunteering by setting up a first aid table, offering support to the riders battling the heat and exhaustion. His efforts will ensure participants stay safe, hydrated, and ready to finish strong.
Whether you’re riding, cheering from the sidelines, or just hearing about it for the first time, it’s exciting to see members of our team taking part in events that bring people together.
To celebrate team members with July birthdays, the office hosted a pizza party. Everyone gathered in the break room and after eating, someone suggested playing UNO to keep the fun going.

The cards flew, people laughed, and the competition got pretty friendly But Marshall, quickly stood out He kept winning round after round Finally, after several wins, Marshall announced, “I’m the UNO King ”
