Manager’s Office Floor Plan and RCP

The uniqueness, beauty, and entertainment promised terms in all Al Futtaim Malls, will be applied in City Centre Al Zahia as well, leaving the visitors with an unforgettable journey. City Centre Al Zahia will represent a trade area of more than 1.9 million people and draw neighbouring Northern Emirates residents, anchored by a 12,700sqm Carrefour Hypermarket, complemented by leisure options like VOX Cinemas, featuring 16 corporate screens of the latest theatre technology, and a 2,350sqm Magic Planet family entertainment destination. As interior design juniors in University of Sharjah, we were honoured to have a chance of designing the Management offices in the City Centre Al Zahia. They provided us a list of points to be considered in our design such as, offering a small reception, mall manager office, two other closed offices, one pantry, and three meeting rooms, all with sustainable materials and universal measurements. Applying the interior requirements and the client requirements with our concept to produce an environment for work and entertainment, which enhances the employee’s productivity and creativity.

Concept Statement: Al Zahia means the wind that moves the tree branch, which gives a chance to an immobile inanimate to move, and the element that gives life to others, creating a scene for meditators to observe. After Al Zahia’s visit, the tree branch moves in a vital pathway, creating curvilinear movement, and taking pollens to give life to many glamour flowers. The first move, the earliest step, the reason behind it all, the curvilinear movement of the tree branch, is Al Zahia’s Mall offices. The outcome, the result, the pay-off, the new flowers, are Al Zahia’s neighbourhoods, Al Lilac Neighbourhood, Al Jouri Neighbourhood, Al Narjis Neighbourhood, and Al Yasmeen Neighbourhood. Using it as a concept to design the offices, to give life to the interior, and to create an environment for employees to get inspired from. Achieving that through using the curviness of the movement on customised furniture, walls, ceiling, and floor designs, using the nature colours, such as shades of wood brown, phases of sky blue to forest green, and drafting them all in the contemporary frame.

Materials

Material Description

1.

Gypsum Board

Gypsum is a soft sulphate mineral composed of calcium sulphate dehydrate. It is widely mined and is used as a fertilizer and as the main constituent that is used for ceiling design. Gypsum boards are recyclable, Fire and water resistant, and sustainable in which Gypsum can be a substitute for lime and cement in interior plasters. Physically gypsum is infinitely recyclable; however, the recycling process requires additional energy. All aspects prove that gypsum products are sustainable materials. It usually comes in the color white.

Fabric

It’s a flexible material consisting of a network of natural or artificial fibers, that is used on office chairs, it’s recyclable, and sustainable in which Fabric is eco-friendly resources, because it comes from sustainably grown fiber crops or recycled materials.

It’s not water, fire resistant. It’s used in green in the offices.

Porcelain

It’s a ceramic material made by heating materials, generally including kaolin, in a kiln to temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400 °C, it’s used in the offices and it’s recyclable , water and fire resistant, and sustainable in which porcelain tiles is one of the best options available. They are not only durable as well as extremely easy to maintain, they are also excellent for the environment and the health of a building. I used it in the color Beige.

Leather

Leather is a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal rawhide and skins. Used for the chairs in the offices. It’s recyclable, water and fire resistant, and sustainable in which Tanneries are adopting tighter safety protocols that keep chemicals and more benign forms of chrome from polluting the environment. Some companies are experimenting with more natural inputs, such as tree bark, to produce some of their skins.

I used it in green and brown.

Glass

Glass is a non-crystalline, often transparent amorphous solid, that has widespread practical, technological, and decorative, it’s used in the office walls, it’s recyclable, it’s water resistant but it’s unresistant to fire , and it’s sustainable in which Glass is a fully recyclable material that can be recycled in close loop repeatedly. Glass recycling also helps in saving energy as culets melt at a lower temperature than raw materials. Consequently, less energy is required for the melting process.

Meranti Wood

It is a versatile wood with many subspecies, purpose, and sources. It is of the easiest hardwood to work on such as it easily cuts, machines mills as well as sands. It’s recyclable , it’s water resistant but it’s unresistant to fire , and sustainable in which Wood is immediately recognized as sustainable by virtue of it being a renewable resource. It grows naturally, and modern forestry standards harvest wood in a sustainable way to preserve the environment of the forest.

It’s used in many furniture, wall and ceiling designs.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned and/or textured or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures, and it’s recyclable , water and fire resistant, and sustainable in which It is a recyclable building product. When a structure has reached the end of its lifespan, the concrete can be crushed and recycled into aggregate for use in pavements or road bases.

It’s used as bathrooms flooring material.

About the project: Designers were asked to observe the space given and figure out some solutions that would improve the quality of the tour given to the visitors. Such as: • To Create new interaction areas for visitors to interact with the aquamarines.

• To Implement new technologies in the design to give a great new tour for the visitors.

“Connection Waves”

Every creature in this world got their own sound frequency that’s different than any other creature such as: The Arabian Gulf Dolphins which are chosen because they’re the friendliest marine creature to humans. Dolphins got a special sound called vocalizations which is the sound or squeak they do to express specific feeling.

When dolphins make this sound a unique patterned harmonic soundwave is formed to present a movement of connection, and unity, the forms that are made by waves represent the relationship that are intended to be achieved between the aquarium and its visitors as a symbol of connection , and interest.

Design style: Contemporary Style encompasses a range of styles developed in the latter half of the 20th century. Pieces feature softened and rounded lines as opposed to the stark lines seen in modern design. Interiors contain neutral elements and bold color, and they focus on the basics of line, shape and form. contemporary designing doesn't refer to a specific period—it's constantly evolving to reflect the popular styles of present-day design. There are a few qualities that help define the contemporary style. Neutral palettes, stark minimalism, clean lines, and organic silhouettes are some of the prominent characteristics.

Retail Function: Flower Retail Shop or Floristry which is the production, commerce and trade in flowers. It encompasses flower care and handling, floral design, or flower arranging, merchandising, and display and flower delivery. Wholesale florists sell bulk flowers and related supplies to professionals in the trade. Retail florists offer fresh flowers and related products and services to consumers.

“HANDPICKED JUST FOR YOU” Concept Statement: Tree grains are the spiral inner pattern that’s found in any tree trunk. Grains gives knowledge about the age of the tree, the more spirals the older the tree. Using tree grains as a concept is that it’s the most related thing to the shabby chic style in which this style is mainly an interior design style that focuses on reusing and re-designing old wooden

LOVE SIMPLICITY HOSPITALITY WILD NATURE

Design Style: Shabby chic is a style of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their appearance of age and

signs of wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor.

This style strikes the perfect balance between feeling relaxed and looking pulled together. It puts forth an artistic-yetelegant vibe. Shabby chic designs are tantalizing. They can appear so effortlessly stylish, when it’s so tricky to strike the perfect balance in a certain space.

Sharjah Community Police ‫شرطة الشارقة المجتمعية‬

Concept Statement Unite Arab Emirates the country of unity, stability and hopes.

"Past years have emphasized the importance of unity as a vital necessity for providing a better life to the people, for ensuring stability in the country and for realizing the hopes and aspirations of our people.�

-By HHS Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May god have mercy on him)Our design concept is inspired by the importance of unity that was indicated and shown by the movement or connection between the sea and land , so when a connection is formed between the sea waves and the seashore they infuse and connect together forming great harmony. This shows the concept of the community police in which the connection between the police and society members is formed to ensure stability in the country and realizing the hopes and aspirations of their people.

Floor Plan About the Project: For this project we chose a building that needs to be designed that includes two important offices or departments.

Those two important departments are community police department and community awareness department. While redesigning this building we need to consider some elements or needs that suit the use of the building.

About the Project: In this project designers were asked to re-design an existing residential apartment, villa, penthouses. This Villa design got a modern design that shows a combination between modern designing and natural environments High quality materials were obtained during this design. The design was suiting the culture of the place the villa located. In which it gives a new style to villas yet have its privacy and comfort design.

EXIT 122

Color Scheme:

About the Project: A group of students collaborated with the ministry of infrastructure development , in which they chose a wasted resting area on the EXIT 122, Students re-designed the area creating and environment that is suitable for travelling families, drivers, and every person in this community. This area contained every facility that is needed by the visitors.

The design of this area was inspired by the name of the year 2019 which is “ Tolerance Year� in which cultures from countries all over the world was combined in this area.

In this project all the materials that was used were recycled, and sustained materials.

Emirates Horizon Between The Present and the past About the project: The project studies and embraces the design elements and associated aesthetic values embedded in the arts of local buildings, both traditional and contemporary. Five heritage houses, situated in the heart of Sharjah district, and buildings of Al Majaz Waterfront district were selected for this project, where their design elements further enrich Sharjah’s horizon.

UOS Alumni Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi’s Gift About the Project: UOS Alumni association presented a memorial gift to his Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi at the ceremony.

This building is a small 3D model of his Highness’s Diwan.
