Taking cues from the hues, arches, movement and textures that make up the Royal Thai brand architecture, Pastiche In Color remains a celebration of being inspired by everything–with the introduction of a new perspective.
Using wool as the medium and flooring as the framework, Pastiche in Color is a combination of perspectives pooled together by our diverse team of creatives spread through every time zone and continent. The unexpected shift from black and white to color invites us to consider how our perceptions can change when we view the world through a more vibrant lens. It challenges us to think about the complexities that color can bring to our understanding of art.
Defined as a musical, literary, or artistic composition made up of selections from different works, Pastiche (n) succinctly defines the hospitality world. Designers can see cascading textures between layers of expertly placed pixels, using multiple styles like cubism, traditional floral, graphic street art, mid-century modern and retro era patterns. The 11 captivating carpet compositions offer a nuanced interplay of elements in both Axminster and Hand Tufted constructions. The artful combination of blended textures, graceful swirls, and rhythmic linear patterns invites contemplation and appreciation of how different methods can influence the final aesthetic. Even deconstructed pieces of the Royal Thai logo peek between torn paper edges–carved into an Axminster rug.
