OUR STORY
In 1998 when Jack Khemlani, our Founder, started his career in the ancestral jewellery business, he had no idea that an order from a major insurance company would soon influence him to form Royale Computers & Accessories, and consequently change his life. With the support of his father, Founding Director, Mr Vashi Khemlani, the company was established in October 2001 as an internet café and technical services provider, operating out of a small store in Pavilion Mall, Half Way Tree. From the onset, we established a strong culture of customer satisfaction influenced by our Founding Director’s ‘people’ focus. This mindset ensured we remained at the forefront of innovation and technology, continually diversifying our offerings as the field evolved. Based on customer demand, the first additions to the business were computer parts and accessories, as well as a gaming lounge. The portfolio later grew to include storage media and the latest in computer hardware. It is this zeal to remain abreast with industry developments, coupled with our desire to provide affordable technology solutions that has differentiated Royale from other retailers. Our customer base has increased alongside our expansion efforts. By 2005 we started to focus on tapping into the reseller market. Three years later we expanded to also service the corporate and government sectors. We continue to remain open to new opportunities to serve emerging markets. The driving factors of honesty, customer satisfaction (service to the customer above all else), value for money, latest in technology, quality products through world-class brands, and excellence in reputation have laid the firm foundation on which the company stands today. These factors have been our anchor and also the springboard used to launch the business into new frontiers.

This year marks a high point for Royale Computers & Accessories as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. What was established in October 2001 as an Internet Café is two decades later being celebrated as a major Product and Solution Provider. I recall that it was a contract with JN General Insurance (formerly known as NEM Insurance) to service and repair their computers that completely changed the trajectory of our business. I n re t ro s p e c t , w h a t w e h a v e achieved on this journey is far beyond what our two-man team had imagined. Organic growth, a strengthened business, and a large customer base did not happen by chance. Although we always had big dreams, those dreams could not have come true without strategic planning and goal-setting. As things changed in our industry we continued to adapt, making

Over the past two decades, Royale Computers & Accessories has blossomed from a single retail location in Pavilion Mall with a cybercafé and a game room, to a technological solutions provider with four retail locations and a business solutions division, becoming the first HP Platinum Partner in the English-Speaking Caribbean, and a Dell Titanium Partner. What a journey it has been! All of this we owe to a strong foundation and culture at Royale, which is built on dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in service, and quality. A HEART OF GIVING The past two decades were not only marked by success in business for us at Royale Computers & Accessories, but also by fulfillment of our corporate social responsibility. Our Founding Director, Mr. Vashi Khemlani burned with an immense passion for helping others and that passion has since been imparted to the directors. Certainly, the story of Royale Computers would be incomplete without mention of the countless children and adults, especially in the education and health sectors, whose lives have been positively impacted by this passion for giving. The outbreak of the Coronavirus in 2020 resulted in the transformation of the education and labour landscapes, and caused greater reliance on technology. This shift was a challenge for many who did not have access to the necessary devices. To fill this gap, Royale Computers partnered with several organisations and individuals
in distributing electronic devices to students across varying communities, so that they could attend school online. Additionally, through collaborations such as ZIP 103’s tablet drive, and the Jamaica National Bank and Rotaract Club’s Enhanced Learning Initiative, Royale Computers & Accessories has been engaged in sponsorship/donation projects for recipients such as the Jamaica Cancer Society, Balcombe Drive Primary School, Barnes Basic School, Mustard Seed Communities, as well as the Holy Family Primary and Infant School. As the nation struggled to manage the mammoth increase in expectations and requirements in the healthcare sector, Royale stepped in to help support the front-line workers by contributing isolation gowns, gloves and UV sterilizers for phones to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI).
Not forgetting the impact on average day to day Jamaicans, Royale partnered with the Wire Fence New Testament Church in Trelawny which organised the distribution of care packages containing essential items to members of the surrounding community. In continuing to solidify our philanthropic efforts and as part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations we will be launching the Vashi Khemlani Foundation in honour of our Founding Director. The aim of this foundation is to ‘Bring Technology to the Underserved.’ As we continue to grow, we pledge to work toward this aim through the provision of access to resources to the underserved, in an effort to improve their quality of life.
