Zog and the Flying Doctors

Based on the book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

Fri 17 – Sun 19 May Fri 4.30pm;

Sat & Sun 10.30am, 1.30pm & 3.30pm

Zog, super keen student turned air-ambulance, still lands with a bang-crash-thump. Together with his Flying Doctor crew, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout, they tend to a sunburnt mermaid, a unicorn with one too many horns and a lion with the flu. However, Pearl’s uncle, the King, has other ideas about whether princesses should be doctors, and she’s soon locked up in the castle back in a crown and a silly frilly dress! With a bit of help from some friends and half a pound of cheese, can Pearl make her uncle better and prove princesses can be doctors too?

Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s bestselling sequel, Freckle Productions are back, with music and lyrics by Joe Stilgoe, for this truly modern take on the classic fairy tale.

Radu Isac: Controversial

Thu 23 May 7.30pm

Dark jokes for those who need a twisted laugh, combining “wokeness” with “outrageousness”. Known as the “comedians’ comedian” in his former home of Romania, Radu was named a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year competition shortly after moving to London. He’s made a name for himself as the king of the misanthropes, setting out his bleak world view one gag at a time. His sugar-coated depravity forces laughs out of those who should really know better – venomous but twinkly, like a snake dipped in glitter. Plus support from Mike Topolski.

Support Us

We know that everybody, both individuals and businesses, are feeling the pinch right now, and so the continued support that we receive is even more appreciated and important to us.

As a registered charity, the generous donations and support we receive are crucial in helping us to make arts accessible. They allow us to offer bursaries to young people to attend classes, subsidise tickets for low income families, and create accessible, enjoyable and creative experiences in the theatre and across our schools, playgrounds and community centres. By choosing to make a donation, purchase a membership, or join as a Business Supporter, you are helping us ensure that everybody can access arts and entertainment for many years to come.

How To Book

We recommend booking online for the quickest, easiest check out.

Online: 24 hours a day at www.thecorecorby.com/whats-on

By telephone: 01536 470470

Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm

In person:

Our Ticket Office is open Tue – Fri 10am – 6pm, Sat 10am – 5pm, or until 15 minutes after the last show of the day commences. When a performance takes place outside of these days, our Ticket Office opens one hour before the start time, and closes 15 minutes after.

Privacy Policy

Our Ticket Office will ask when you book if you would like to receive further information from us about The Core’s events and activities. We will then record your wishes and use them to inform what you receive from us in future. You can update these preferences at any time by accessing your account via our website or by calling the Ticket Office. All data collected is in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 18. Full information on how we use it can be found at www.thecorecorby.com/about-us/privacy.

Family Friendly

The Core is committed to being a family friendly organisation. Some of the facilities we offer to make your visit run as smoothly as possible include booster seats, child-friendly food and beverages and, of course, a warm friendly welcome. Many of our family shows offer a self-led, pre-show craft activity.

Discounts And Concessions

Concessions are available for selected shows for Under 16s, 60+, Students, Jobseekers, Disabled Patrons and Companions.

Additional concessions are available for certain shows, including family tickets (max 2 adults) – full details are highlighted on individual show entries and at www.thecorecorby.com

Groups And Schools

A range of great discounts and other benefits are available to Groups & Schools. To find out more about our group rates for bookings of 10+ and how we can make your visit as a group hassle free, please contact our dedicated Groups Advisor, Gillian, using gillian.lockwood@thecorecorby.com

Transaction Fee

We charge a £2 per-transaction fee for telephone and website bookings of £15 and over. This does not apply in person or to Friends, Groups and Disabled Patrons. As ticket revenue is divided between many different parties, an increase in ticket prices may not necessarily benefit The Core. By adding a small transaction charge, we ensure that every penny of this goes to your local venue and the projects we run with local communities and young people.

Returns And Exchanges

We are unable to exchange or refund tickets after they are purchased, unless an event is cancelled or rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our control, or where there is a material change to the programme of the event.

The Small Print

All concessions are subject to availability and should be checked at time of booking. Proof of status will be required. Please note that not all concessions are available with online booking. All information is correct at time of printing but we reserve the right to make any alterations to the programme, performers, times and ticket prices. Every effort will be made to advertise changes in the local press and via www.thecorecorby.com. Retrospective discounts are not available, including discounts linked to our Friends scheme.
