Petit minou

PREFACE 4881 photos, 438 auteurs, 55 pays représentés : voilà 3 chiffres qui nous permettent de dire que notre 3ème concours international de la photographie est un succès.

Il y a 2 ans, nous avons voulu faire découvrir notre planète par le biais d’une catégorie « Nature » et le résultat fut très satisfaisant.

Cette fois-ci, nous avons voulu mettre en évidence une autre facette de notre Terre, et non des moindre : ses habitants. C’est pourquoi nous avons proposé cette année une catégorie « Portrait ». Les résultats ont été à la hauteur de nos espérances et même au delà.

Pour notre plus grand plaisir, nous avons retrouvé un bon nombre d’auteurs qui nous sont fidèles et qui participent à chaque fois. Mais de nouveaux auteurs sont venus se joindre à eux, certains habitant des pays qui n’avaient jamais participé aux concours cominois comme l’Iran, l’Indonésie, la Birmanie ou l’Arabie Saoudite.

Tout ceci nous prouve que la photographie est un art et un langage bien vivant.

Nous tenons donc à remercier tous les participants qui ont fait de ce concours un succès en nous confiant leurs images.

Un grand merci également aux 6 membres du jury qui ont eu la lourde tâche de sélectionner les 1100 meilleures images à leurs yeux et je me dois de les nommer : Luc Stalmans(EFIAP/PPSA-Belgique), Frank Callens (EFIAP-Belgique), Michèle Descamps (AFIAP-France), Vincent Bonnefille (AFIAP-France), Bernard Halleux (Belgique) et Bernard Catry (France).

Je dois également remercier la ville de Comines-Warneton, la MJC de Comines et nos sponsors qui nous ont apporté leur soutien sans oublier les membres du Royal Photo Club Cominois qui ont répondus présents comme à l’accoutumée..

Tout ceci aurait été fantastique si une pandémie mondiale n’avait rendu impossible la tenue du point d’orgue de ce salon : l’exposition et la remise des prix.

Cela aura toujours un goût d’inachevé mais la santé passe avant tout et nous vous donnons rendez vous pour notre 4ème salon international de la photographie.

VOORWOORD 4881 foto’s, 438 auteurs, 55 vertegenwoordigde landen : dit zijn 3 cijfers die ons in staat stellen te zeggen dat onze derde internationale fotowedstrijd een succes is.

Twee jaar geleden wilden we onze planeet laten zien door een categorie « Natuur » en het resultaat was zeer bevredigend.

Deze keer wilden we een ander facet van onze aarde benadrukken, en niet in het minst : zijn inwoners.

Daarom hebben we dit jaar een categorie “Portret” voorgesteld.

De resultaten

voldeden aan onze verwachtingen en waren zelfs boven.

Voor ons grootste plezier hebben we veel auteurs teruggevonden die ons trouw zijn en die elke keer deelnemen. Maar er zijn nieuwe auteurs bijgekomen, sommigen woonden in landen die nooit hadden deelgenomen in de Komense wedstrijden zoals Iran, Indonesië, Birma of SaudiArabië.

Dit alles bewijst ons dat fotografie wel een kunst en een levende taal is.

We willen dan ook alle deelnemers bedanken, die deze wedstrijd tot een succes hebben gemaakt en die ons hun beelden tovertrouwen.

Ook een grote dank aan de 6 juryleden die de zware taak hadden om de 1100 beste foto’s te selecteren en ik moet hun naam geven : Luc Stalmans(EFIAP/PPSA-België), Frank Callens (EFIAP-België), Michèle Descamps (AFIAPFrankrijk), Vincent Bonnefille (AFIAP-Frankrijk), Bernard Halleux (België) en Bernard Catry (Frankrijk).

Ik moet ook de stad Komen-Waasten, de MJC van Komen en onze sponsors bedanken, die ons steunden zonder de leden van de Koninklijke Foto Club van Komen te vergeten die zoals gewoonlijk aanwezig waren.

Dit alles zou fantastisch zijn geweest als een wereldwijde pandemie niet onmogelijk maakte om de hoogte punt van deze salon te houden : de tentoonstelling en de prijsuitreiking.

Het zal altijd een gevoel van onvolledigheid hebben maar de gezondheid gaat boven alles en we geven u al een afspraak voor onze 4de Internationaal Fotografie Salon.

PREFACE 4881 pictures, 438 authors, 55 countries represented : here are 3 numbers which allow us to say that our 3rd international photography contest is a success.

Two years ago we wanted to discover our planet through a category “Nature” and the result was very satisfactory.

This time, we wanted to highlight another facet of our Earth, and not least : its inhabitants. Therefore, we proposed this year a category « Portrait ». The results lived up to our expectations and even beyond.

To our greatest delight, we met again an important amount of authors who are loyal to us and who participate every time. But new authors have joined them, some of them living in countries which had never participated to Comines’ competition as Iran, Indonesia, Burma or Saudi Arabia.

All this proves to us that photography is an art and a living language.

So we would like to thank all the participants who made this contest a success by submitting their pictures to us.

We also want to thank the 6 jury members who had the difficult task of selecting the 1100 best pictures and I have to name them : Luc Stalmans(EFIAP/PPSA-Belgium), Frank Callens (EFIAP-Belgium), Michèle Descamps (AFIAPFrance), Vincent Bonnefille (AFIAP-France), Bernard Halleux (Belgium) et Bernard Catry (France).

I must also thank the city of Comines, the MJC of Comines and our sponsors who gave us their support without forgetting the members of the Royal Photo Club of Comines who were present as always.

All of this would have been fantastic if a global pandemic hadn’t impeach the holding of the highlight of this competition : the exhibition and the Awards.

It will always have a feeling of unfinished but health comes first and we give you an appointment for our 4th International Photography Contest.
