Steel Hopper and its Various Applications in Different Industries

Steel hoppers are specially made dumping containers made out of highly durable materials such as stainless or galvanized steel. They are used for containing, storing, transporting, and processing different types of products and by-products for different industrial applications. The following are some of the most common types of steel dumping hoppers and below are their some practical applications:

Dump hoppers - Typical dump hoppers are designed and built for light duty loads. They can hold and contain different types of light materials like paper, wood, plastics, aluminum cans, metal turnings, and construction debris. The best kinds of dump hoppers are those made out of high gauge carbon steel, giving the body superior strength. Dump hoppers feature secure flip latches to prevent the trip lever latch from releasing while in transport.

Recycling self dumping hoppers – Self dumping hoppers are perfect for recycle material and refuse handling applications. They traditionally feature plastic lids to keep material dry and cut down odor while also controlling pests. They provide a safe method for handling recyclable materials and refuse as well as other types of materials for special applications.

Open-side hoppers – Open-side hoppers are designed for handling different types of construction materials such as lumber, tubing, metal pipes, shears drop, and extruded products. Open-side hoppers help speed up material handling and increase productivity while reducing operation costs.

Dewatering hoppers – Dewatering dump hoppers are designed for efficient handling and processing of wet material, such as pulp, aggregate, waste, and water. They are commonly used for collecting and draining wet material for water and sewage treatment as well as for pulp processing applications.

90° self dumping hoppers – These types of hoppers automatically return to an upright, locked position when lowered to the ground. They are ideal for handling various materials such as metal shavings, chips, and turnings as well as saw dust and other loose particles.

Dross hoppers – Dross hopers are designed to safely collect and handle hot material like hot forgings and hot glass. They have a double wall construction and perforated sidewalls to help release heat quickly. Their heavy duty base also ensures strength and durability.

Lined hoppers – Lined hoppers include a protective coating for safe handling of various types of material. They have reinforced bodies and a protective coating to shield the hopper from skids and damages.
