Round Table South Cape Custodians of The Buffalo Club

Round Table South Cape is an area of Round Table Southern Africa that is situated in the commonly known, Garden Route. Currently Round Table South Cape Area comprises of 4 Tables, namely, George 30, Mossel Bay 32, Oudtshoorn 33 and Swellendam 179.

Round Table South Cape Area is perhaps best known throughout Round Table both locally and internationally, as the custodians of The Buffalo Club. It is here that the Buffalo Club and its rich traditions came to be, in 1991. Therefore, the reference to “The Original Buffalo Zone”, as can be seen on our Area Logo.

We are a small area that accounts for massive results. We are driven by our desire and passion for making a difference in the communities we serve. Thus, our motto, #MaaknVerskil. Each Table in our Area carries with it a deeply engrained role and responsibility to deliver and continue to grow lasting impactful change, that uplifts and restores the lives of all those that we encounter to a higher sense of self.

As an Area, we are responsible for various projects annually, which have garnered National and International attention such as the Beach Cleanup Campaign, founded by Mossel Bay 32 and later adopted by George 30. As coastal Tables, the importance of these ongoing projects can never be understated.

Our rich traditions are upheld by the close bond we have with those that came before us. This is evident, given our strong 41’er contingent who continuously interact with us to offer advice and assistance when needed. We also boast extremely strong bonds with various other service clubs throughout our Area, such as Ladies Circle, Lions, Rotary, Vryburgers and MOTHS. Through these relationships, we can combine and serve our communities to a larger extent.

As an Area that carries with it, all the beauty and splendour this country has to offer, we are an extremely popular destination for International and Local Tablers who visit our shores. This serves as a cornerstone of the fellowship and forever lasting relationships we forge with all who visit us.

On the 7th of March 2023 our newly inducted Chairman Daneel “Shades” Meiring and his lovely wife Karlien Meiring made little Lienke Meiring a big sus, by welcoming into the world their second child, a beautiful and perfectly healthy little girl, Leané Meiring.

We as table and community is so happy and very proud of this moment in the lives of the Meirings, we know that Leané and Lienke are loved by all, and we are so excited to see what the future holds for them. One thing you can count on, its going to be bright one!!

Another thing I can tell you is, old Shades is going to have his hands full with all the boys that’s going to come knocking, but I am sure that he will have ample support to guide those lads in the right direction (in his words away from his daughters haha).
