Dir. Anna announced today was World Homeless Day and encouraged Rotaractors and Prospective members to help persons who were in need

o

Dir. Jean-Paul spoke about Pinktober and mentioned that last week Friday was pink day, where persons had to wear something pink. He noted that the club will be selling pink ribbon pins shortly.

o

Persons who wants to register for Breast Cancer Run/walk on October 24th will have to pay $1000 if they are over 18 years old and $500 if under 18 years old.

o

Digicel 5k is on October 24, 2013. Persons interested in the run can contact Dir. Jean-Paul for more information.

Dir. Anna-Kaye spoke about visiting School for the Blind this Saturday, October 12, 2013. More persons interested please contact Dir. Anna-Kaye. The visit will be for 2 hours from 10am -12pm. The meeting place is in Half Way Tree. For persons who want to go directly to School for the Bling, it is located at 57 Mannings Hills Road.

Prospective Member Deidre spoke about volunteering at the hospital, saying that it was a fulfilling experience and encouraged persons to visit the hospital and offer their services volunteering

o

Dir. Anna-Kaye noted that tutoring at Maxfield Park Children’s Home will resume after the holiday and she thanked the persons who came out and supported.

o

VP Odile announced that PETS will take place this week October 12th -13th in Negril and told persons the cost between $9000 and $10,000. She encourages person who want to learn about leadership positions and become a part of the Rotaract UWI executive should go. The training sessions will take place on Saturday. There will also be a Blue Jeans event and a beach outing. The date for school-based PETS will be announced in meetings to come.

Dir. Tauna announced that there will be an outing at Medusa, October 30, 2013 and is inviting Rotaractors and prospective members join. The cost is $1000. Medusa located off Hope Road and is across from Campion College

o

Wing sauce competition is on November 2nd. Persons who are skilled in the kitchen and/or are interested in being a part of the Rotaract team can let us know they are interested.

o

Dir. Jean-Paul announced World Polio day is on October 24, 2013 and encouraged persons to take pictures showing the “we’re this close” sign to commemorate World Polio Day.

o
