This document is designed to provide families with clear, comprehensive information about the costs associated with attending RLC, as well as the financial support options available. Our goal is to offer transparency, clarity, and support throughout the process.

We encourage families to review this guide carefully and reach out with any questions. Our admissions and finance teams are here to assist you at every step. Whether you are exploring RLC for the first time or are a returning family planning ahead, we hope this guide provides the tools and information you need to make an informed and confident financial plan for your child’s education.

When you enroll at RLC

Upon acceptance there is a non-refundable, onetime only enrolment fee:

Day student

$5,00000 ($2,00000 enrolment deposit + $3,00000 towards tuition)

Domestic boarding student

$8,000.00 ($3,000.00 enrolment deposit + $5,00000 towards tuition)

International boarding student

$10,00000 ($4,00000 enrolment deposit + $6,000.00 towards tuition)

ContinuousEnrolmentAgreement

The parents of new students are required to complete a continuous enrolment agreement within two weeks of receiving an Offer of Admission from the school The agreement indicates that:

Re-enrolment is required for current students annually in February for the following September Students will be considered enrolled once the signed contract and enrolment fee have been received by the School Rosseau Lake College reserves the right to refuse re-enrolment for any student whose account is not up to date for the current year.

Student Descriptions

DOMESTIC STUDENTS

Students who are Canadian or American citizens, or those who have current Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) status

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

international students are generally defined as non-Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have obtained authorization from the Canadian government to enter Canada with the specific intention of pursuing an education At RLC, all of the international students generally are boarding students

INTERNATIONAL DAY STUDENTS

An international day student must reside locally with one or both parent(s), and may not reside with a sibling, relative, friend, custodian, or a homestay host. The director of admissions will approve this status on a case-by-case basis at the time of application. International day students will pay the domestic day student tuition fee plus a supplemental international fee.

Tuition

Day Tuition at Rosseau Lake College covers a wide range of services and programming designed to support each student’s academic journey and personal growth. This includes all core academic instruction, classroom materials, access to technology and learning resources, co-curricular activities, daily lunch service, and participation in school-wide events and excursions. Day students also benefit from individualized guidance, outdoor education programming, and access to campus facilities during the school day and for afterschool activities.

Boarding tuition includes the following:

Additional fees

Each Rosseau Lake College student will have different needs throughout the school year These expenses are approximate, may differ from student to student and are for the full school term of ten months. Fees are subject to change.

Parent annual fund

Philanthropy is an important and impactful tradition at Rosseau Lake College The Rosseau Lake College Parent Annual Fund was established as a way for our current parents to support RLC with an annual donation.

Each year, we ask every family for a voluntary gift which directly benefits our students and programs. We are grateful to parents who join in this spirit of giving and continue to strengthen Rosseau Lake College.

To facilitate donations, RLC will place a $125 voluntary gift on the student’s account four times during the Fall term For families with two or more students at RLC, the voluntary donation will appear on your eldest child’s account Should you wish to participate, Rosseau Lake College will issue a tax receipt for your donation

Custodianship

International students applying for a Canadian Study Permit are required to include a notarized Custodianship Declarationwith their application This essential document must be provided by the student's designated custodian. At Rosseau Lake College, we require every international boarding student to have an Englishspeaking custodian who is at least 21 years old and lives in Ontario for the entire duration of their studies. For the upcoming 2025-26 school year, Rosseau Lake College is pleased to offer an inhouse custodianship service at no additional charge to international student families, apart from a small notarization fee The Assistant Head of School, Student Life, serves as the official custodian for all international students at RLC To get started, simply complete the RLC In-house Custodianship Service Application Form found on the Enrollment Checklist in the Parent Portal

Financial assistance

Rosseau Lake College acknowledges that an independent school education is a significant investment in a child’s education and future for a family, and we welcome families to apply for tuition assistance in the form of a bursary or scholarship.

Once approved by the Financial Assistance Committee, awards will be credited to your account and scheduled payments may be reduced if the student has been awarded tuition assistance in the form of a bursary or scholarship Returning student scholarships will be posted once final grades are confirmed in June

Renewal applications for students currently receiving tuition assistance must be completed annually and submitted to Apple Financial Services by January 20th each year. Applications for new families must be completed and submitted to Apple Financial Services by January 30th, 2025.

Tax Credits

Rosseau Lake College provides Canadian tax receipts upon request for those elements of the tuition that qualify as child care expenses, for students 17 years or under, during the calendar year

The school recommends that you seek advice from your financial advisor regarding applicability of these receipts to your tax situation

Student Withdrawals

Once a student has enrolled, notice of withdrawal must be made in writing and provided to the Director of Admissions at admissions@rosseaulakecollege com

If notification is provided before June 1st, one full semester of the annual tuition is due and payable and will not be refunded

If notification is provided after June 1st, the total year’s tuition is due and payable and will not be refunded

The one-time enrolment fee is not refundable under any circumstances

Refunds

You will be granted a full tuition refund, minus the enrolment fee, with documented proof from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canadian (IRCC) that your visa / study permit has been denied; however you must activate the appeal process with an immigration lawyer If the appeal is declined, THEN a refund can be processed

* The refund policies are subject to change without prior notice

Delinquent Accounts

The Finance Office will address delinquent accounts in the following manner:

Accounts +5 days overdue and over $100 00

Will be assessed a late fee of $15 00 per month until the overdue balance is paid in full

Accounts +30 days overdue

Parents/custodians responsible for payment of the account will receive a phone call and follow up email from the Director of Finance

Accounts +60 days overdue

Student(s) will be suspended until the overdue balance has been paid in full

Parents/custodians responsible for payment of the account will be notified by the Head of School

Accounts +90 days overdue

Any accounts over 90 days past due and/or outstanding at the end of the school year and unpaid on July 28 will be sent to Small Claims Court, a Collection Agency or to other legal means for collection by the Finance Office as directed by the Head of School.
